I asked a question a couple of weeks ago on my blog. The question was If your life was on the line. What pitcher would you want taking the mound for you from the last 20 years?
My answer is Andy Pettitte hands down. I can't think of a better money pitcher from the last 20 years than Pettitte. Last night he showed it again when the Yankees defeated the Rays. Pettitte pitched like his life was on the line. 3 out his last 4 starts he has given up 2 runs or less. This is a man that was retired but the call of the diamond was too much to ignore. Andy Pettitte is my man. Who is yours?

I grew up listening and watching Ryan when he pitched for the Angels. Those were great days I would listen to 710 KMPC and even though I lived in San Diego I could pick up the LA stations especially at night. Dick Enberg and Don Drysdale would call the games. Enberg with his classic "Touch a ball" HR calls. Drysdale with that dry matter of fact voice. You could just tell Drysdale was a tough guy. Great times. When Ryan was on he was dominating. 100 MPH Fastballs just completely overpowering hitters. But he also had a wild streak and would walk guys and invariably somebody would launch one and he would get shelled. But when he had his stuff going and that fastball was moving. The man was untouchable.

Thank God that page is over with. I'm just hoping that this page is normal. We shall see as I will keep typing to test this page out. Let's see if it works. If it doesn't I give up. I got work to do. Here it goes. Fingers crossed.
