Miami has no quarterbacks with the injuries. Some guy named Pigpen is going to play qb for Miami. Enough said.

Let us all remember how horrible Cutler is under the lights the past couple years, including the 9 sack fiasco against the G-Men. Thigpen is a more than capable QB with sharp down field skills. Also, with the 3rd string QB starting, Miami still opened as a 2 point fav against the surging Bears. Go figure.

My Bears should be able to pull this one out tonight.
The difference tonight will be the ears D.
Jake Long looks like he is going to play but he will be facing Julius Peppers with one arm.
A 3rd string QB (who is probably the most qualified 3rd string QB in the NFL) that only has one day of practice vs. a ball Hogging secondary.
And Devon Hester is back to his old ways returning kicks so look for the bears to have great field position all night.

Our starting center Berger is out for this one and being replaced by Proctor who actually came in late to take over for Berger in the Titans game. The upside on that is that Thigpen and Proctor has been handling the snaps together since training camp so the chemistry is there.
Tyler is starting today so I just hope for the best that we can pull this one out. I don't have great faith in him but I do like his mobility. He actually made all state in high school as a TE and I read that he has great hands to catch the ball so I wouldn't be surprised if we actually use him as a receiver in the wildcat tonight. He did display how mobile he is during his time in KC and showed flashes of it as well we he came into the Titans game.
Most people would see this as the 3rd string qb having only 3 days to practice for this one but this is his second year with the Dolphins so it's not like he needs to learn the system. I personally feel that it is an advantage to us as the Bears defense only had 3 days to watch film on Thigpen and probably the majority of that film was while he was still in KC.
We just need to hope for the best tonight brother so...

Hate to say it but they have the QB advantage....also Cutler is beginning to understand the capabilities of the cast around him and uses them accordingly....Forte is very good out of the backfield and can be very lethal....the receiving core is very fast which brings coverage down the field for under passes to Olsen or Forte.....Defensively Chicago has played pretty good, a team with good linebackers can keep the dolphins running attack at bay and that is whay the dolphins will depend on...Short week with your 3rd String QB starting (they don't want to pass cause if Peppers kills him Patrick Ramsey starts

Big Daddy - I'm used to seeing you on the College Threads. Always apreciate your input. Good Luck Tonight but I like my Bears over your Dolphins tonight.
I'm also looking at the Over.
Bears have started rolling Cutler Out more which is where he is much more comfortable throwing the ball and has the ability to run for a few first downs. Hester will give the bears a big advantage in Field Position.
On the flip side the Bears don't have anyone that can stop Brandon Marshall. Now lets just see if Sporano takes advantage and dials up a few big plays.

Tough game to pick....Bears are a solid road team, Dolphins struggle at home. You'd think with Thigpen in, the Bears would be able to create a couple of TOs and get it done.
But it's tough to overlook the fact that Sparano's a solid coach and should/could coach circles around Lovie Smith. Not to mention Cutler's more than capable of giving the game to the Dolphins on his own (although he has been playing better lately).
Leaning Chicago...not too confidently though. Like the Under more than a side. GL all

I have never seen so much rationalization trying to make a 3rd string QB situation seem like it will have the advantage over a VERY TOUGH defense. Good luck with that.

I agree.
Miami's offense w/ a 3rd string QB will be simplified. Bears defense should have no problem shutting down an already mediocre at best Miami offense.
Cutler is the definition of Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde. Whichever one shows up, however, I do not see it making a difference for the spread, but more so affecting the o/u. Cutler could blow up and score could be 34-13 or he could lay an egg and score could be 16-13. Either way I see the Bears winning w/ a better defense.
I see it more likely that Cutler will lay an egg and am leaning towards the under.
In my opinion the safe bet is the Bears with the points.
Gonna watch the line movements until gametime. May go Bears moneyline and under on a parlay.
Anyone else worried about the fact that line opened up at -3 with expectation of Miami starting a 3rd string QB? Smells like a typical vegas trap. Especially since public is moving line down. Sometimes public is right though so too hard to tell.

Well that's why I stated "most" people will see it that way...I'm not talking about Pat white or John Beck coming in to start in this one...now that's a different story.
I also stated that I didn't have much faith in Thigpen but I think most BIG Dolphin fans such as I would agree with me when I say that Thigpen might be an upgrade over Henne 
Henne in Miami is known as Captain checkdown...Thigpen on the other hand is mobile and has an arm. I mean I like Henne but I feel personally that Thigpen has more confidence in his passing than Henne does. Once Henne works on that he will be fine.
Anyway I'm not saying the Dolphins will win this one. I just hope they do. All I was trying to say was that don't count them out due to Thigpen being the 3rd string qb.
I lost some cash the other day on Temple and their pretty solid 18th ranked defense...that defense got beat by an Ohio QB playing with 1 good eye in Boo Jackson 
...so anything can happen.

I think back to the first 3 or 4 games the Bears played where I remember alot of folks saying the Bears are for real. I truly believe this will be one of those games again on MNF. Cutler will step it up tonight soley based on the big lights and nationwide coverage. He is inconsistent although he's had more time to to learn the systems being the starting QB all season. As Miami's on their 3rd string QB with Thigpen. It's irrelavent how talented he is, if now the team haS to get used to another play caller, another passer and another scrambler. All these mechanics play a big part in how the rest of the team responds or doesn't!
Cameron Wake won't be enough pressure against Cutler as opposed to Urlacher, Peppers and Briggs who will have much more of a presence on a consistent basis attacking an strugling O line, still trying to feel out how Thigpen reacts to being thrown in again.
Look for Cut-man to have a big night surprising all of us as well as undirected Dolphin squad.
Bears take this battle going OVER in MNF fashion!!

WOW.......Merry Christmas Boys !!!
3 KEY reasons the Bears win easily tonight:
1. Miami is 6-25 ATS in their last 31 games as a home favorite.
2. Thigpen has thrown 20 passes in last 2 years. I will say that again.....Thigpen has thrown 20 passes in last 2 years for a total of 162 yds
3. Chicago's D is #4 in the NFL and # 2 in points allowed.

I think it is hilarious that Thigpen already has one pick on the season. If the Bears defense holds up to the statistics...then Miami should not stand a chance. I think it is a lot to ask thigpen to step in under the spotlight of the Thursday night game...with a short week to prepare..and injuries to long and marshall. Cutler coming off a solid performance probably feeling pretty confident. Dont forget about Hester on special teams....that dude can be real scary.
