Ravens year comes to an end here and 3 1/2 wont be enough. How ya gonna run on a team that gives up on avg 79 yds.Last 2 against @Carolina then Browns @home then 13 days rest for Hair.Throw in speedy Wallace against suspect corners.Home field and a qb who knows how to win etc etc all things point to the Steelers moving on.I'm a Ravens backer and i will be laying off of this one and HOPE I"M WRONG.I doubt it.

Other than my silliness some stats stick out as well that really support that extra half point. The past eight Baltimore-Pittsburgh battles have been decided by: 3, 3, 3, 3, 9, 4, 3 and 6. Also....
Playoff teams coming off byes are 10-18 ATS since 2003 (7-13 since 2005).
Playoff teams coming off a road win in Round 1 are 7-2 ATS in Round 2 since 2005.

I rarely post on here....However,the Steelers are my sort of niche.Baltimore will not be able to run...clearly...no one runs on Pitt.
Better D=Pitt./Better QB=Pitt/Ben has proven he can make plays necessary at crunch time,Has Flacco on the biggest of stages as of yet?.Pitts o_line has gelled last 4 weeks...asl long as that trend continues...i.e. ...running game....I see a td cover here at least.Pitt is 2nd in the league in turnover ratio.
Only edge i see here for Bmore is special teams.....PITT MINUS THE POINTS

What's this? I see everybody and their mother betting on the Ravens! It must be on sentiment, because it sure doesn't jibe with the facts. Rule # 1) When it comes to playoff "crunch time", the Steelers ALWAYS find a way for a big game to advance! Rule # 2) Follow Rule #1! I appreciate that Baltimore Offensive Coach keeps the reins on Flacco. Expect the Ravens to settle for FG's, and 1 or 2 TD's by Ben. Further expect both defenses to dictate the tempo of the game.

I really like the look of this team right now. This squad is built for the playoffs, and they are focused, balanced and healthy (much more-so than in reason years). The addition of Boldin will prove huge starting now, as they don't need to be run first. They'll be too much for the Steelers on Saturday, and will give the Pats a heck of a game next week.

That last stat is quite compelling!! It appears most of the posts on this thread are fueled by emotion rather than stats/facts. Being a Browns fan I loathe both teams.....lol....just when I thought the Steelers were the play....Dr. has to throw this into the mix!!! Great input as always Doc.....back to the drawing board....GL to all!!!

How are the Steelers slowly sliding down? Funny way to describe a team that won 6 of their last 7 and clinched a first round bye. And all games matter where they're played. I know it's a rivalry game but home field does mean something, especially come playoff time.
Why has no one brought up the fact that Big Ben is 8-2 in his career against the ravens and currently has a 5 game winning streak against them? The last time Ben lost to the Ravens was in 2006 when Steve McNair was the QB.
Let's also not forget how bad Flacco plays against this Steelers defense. In seven contests against the Black & Gold, Flacco has accumulated a mere 204 yards per game at 6.5 yard per attempt. He's completed just 53.4 percent of his passes and has 6 TD's to 7 INT's.
PIT -3 (this is the line most books have it at and this is the line I'm hoping to get it at after the public bets heavy on the ravens getting that extra .5)

While searching for stat nuggets amongst covers field ,none yields to real time elements such as momentum and drive that takes the front seat away (and an empty wallet) from the false security stats offer.Pick any one of these, pick a number,toss a coin or believe in what you see and feel.Pittsburgh ML is 10 -1 when total is between 35.5 - 42...Pitt is 8-0 ATS last 8 games in January and 7-1 last 8 playoff games...Dog is 3-0-1 last 4 in series...Road team 3-0-1 last 4...BALT ML is 13 - 1 on grass field...Past 4 years of divisional playoffs (16 games) produced 7 upsets and 11 Dog covers...
So Who's your winner ? These or other stat tidbits fail to reveal Ravens DOMINATING time of possesion vs Chiefs much like Jets did, managing clock winning @ Pittsburgh with considerably less offensive weapons than Balt. + there's an ironic tables turnin' twist with Santonio Holmes out of Pittsburgh and A. Boldin with Ravens.As good as Mike Wallace appears for Pitt ,he was stifled by Ravens secondary whereabouts Boldin had 118 yards 1 TD +
Ray Rice had a stellar year rushing for 1,222 Yards + 63 receptions just one fewer than Boldin. Ravens had Pitt beaten in last game if not for TP's late pick.Ravens beat themselves,they know it and it will not happen again .With,without stats or numbers,goes without saying,this will be a close game with Ravens hopefully winning all the way to TeXas for neither Jets nor Pats will beat this team if they beat Pitts. Same can't be said if Pitts win whom Jets or Pats should handle.Last but not least, Flacco appears to be maturing and peaking at the right time unlike past seasons .
