If Ukraine kept nuclear weapons, Russian invasion would be less probable. Putin favors attacking weak countries. Not members of NATO. History shows NATO expansion helped to curb Russia imperial ambitions. Russia has not invaded former soviet countries that joined NATO. Historically, NATO is the most successful defensive alliance in maintaining peace. This is opposite of Putin lies misrepresenting NATO as a threat. Perhaps, no war if Ukraine had been allowed to join NATO years ago?

I was of course referring to Biden's State Department......NOT Obamas. But since you brought it up..... yes, the Vassal state of Ukraine was established post 2014. Glad we agree on this peace_5
