This is more about the lack of respect and inability to listen from Ukraine leadership than anything else. The US has made multiple requests for the military to not attack oil resources/refineries etc because of the instable world situation and I guess they agreed and then went back on what they agreed on.
I'd rather we stay out of the situation because Ukraine only wants the US for weapons and cash they are not our allies and I think Russia is using their standard approach of bleed the enemy dry and so this should continue for a very long time until Ukraine finally stops and agrees to the terms with Russia that they already did and now do not want to follow.
