The logic behind the $ wagered on Republican control of the Senate is Dems have to win all of their vulnerable seats (GA,NH,MI,MN) plus win 4 vulnerable Red Seats = a harder task than what the Republicans have to do. Those that take the time to review each race Vote Democrat to win the Senate.
Again Republicans vulnerable seats are TX, NC, Neb, Montana, Fl, Iowa, Alaska, Ohio, Maine! If the Dems withdrew their Neb Dem Senate Candidate an Independent could steal the seat from the Republican. Iowa is kinda a toss up, Texas leans Red. NC, Ohio, Maine, & Alaska are locks as long as the candidates finish the race, anyone could get hit by a truck. Montana & Fl are red. Had the war continued & gas prices rose Montana, Fl, TX = Red.

Yeah. But technology does not have to be affordable to everyone at the start. Prices will fall as production scales up.
Think about flat-screen TVs, smart phones, and electric vehicles, etc.
The question about robots has always been: will everyone need to own robots at all.
China has not migrated to fusion-powered cells. They have made a lot of innovations in the area. There is not a commercial fusion power system supplying electricity to homes, cars or robots in China—or anywhere else.
But time will tell how these things play out.

China as part of it’s Security & Economic Strategy has begun creating Fusion Science Curriculum in their education system so that Child Scientists, Engineers, etc.. Imagine Dream then create Fusion Powered Products = Houses, Hospitals, Cars, radios, robots, jet skis, etc… Everything so by 2050 24 years from now they’re migrating to a FUSION Powered Civilization. Yes. They have made a concerted effort to whence their STEM education.
Fusion is certainly a priority for them.
But they do not have a stated goals of: ‘Dream then create Fusion Powered Products = Houses, Hospitals, Cars, radios, robots, jet skis, etc’.
That is just extrapolating at this point.
It is very easy to show a goal they have missed in the last hundred years.
‘The Great Leap Forward’ was a huge failure. Mao and his government set very ambitious goals on everything from agriculture to industrial outputs.
Their steel production industry, as an example, was a complete failure. They produced vast amounts of extremely low-quality steel that was largely unusable.
The failure of their entire agenda then led directly to a devastating famine.
Certainly they have turned it around in a lot of areas lately, like semiconductors, robotics, medical and agricultural equipment, etc.
The issue is that it is not an equal comparison between China and the USA. The USA does not have the 10 point plan with industry like China. The USA has hundreds of plans and goals spread across various spectrums.
Even in fusion. They have targeted a pilot fusion plant for sometime in the mid 2030s.
Look at the AI movement— they have close to 100 federal actions that are ongoing. The CHIPS strategy. They have serious STEM plans as well.
So, there is not exact numbers like: China has met 68% and USA has met 56% of their goals.
The two countries simply operate differently.
China normally will set a 5-year plan. China can afford to set specific goals. The USA is set up around presidential administrations with congressional approvals.
But you can look at the USA explicit goals that have been met when they chose to delineate it that way.
National highway system, man on the moon, Manhattan Project, develop the internet, global navigation satellite system, reusable space shuttle.
Even recently the Operation Warp Speed to rush out a vaccine would qualify.
CHIPS, AI, fusion, man back to the moon — are some goals that are on-going where progress is being made.

The point of contention was about the USA versus China in achieving goals.
Basically you will have 3-4 stages, depending on how you separate them.
An invention or scientific discovery, development or engineering, production or deployment.
The USA has been exceptionally strong in the 3rd and 4th areas without doubt -- even when the discovery or invention came from somewhere else.
So, with goals in mind the USA set up DARP funding which was crucial at the time of development, the TCP/IP program, the whole university research and infrastructure. Then they, for sure, led the commercialization of it.
The Manhattan Project certainly showed a clear goal being achieved. The physics behind it may not have been primarily in the USA, but they certainly supplied enormous amounts of resources, research, plutonium production, the first nuclear test, etc. They achieved the first operational atomic bombs.
So with achieving goals in mind and not necessarily inventing things you can phrase it along the lines of:
"The USA didn't invent every scientific principle behind either technology, but it was central to transforming both into practical, large-scale technologies. The USA role in the Internet was foundational, and the Manhattan Project was overwhelmingly a USA-led effort."
So, for goal comparison I would easily make the argument that there are many goals the USA has met and some very clear ones that China has not met.

Who does? No one I know does. Spending is just an indicator of resources and capability, etc. Success is measured by achieving strategic goals.
