Kamala Harris endorsed Troy Jackson who won Maine 52 to 44 while losing a delegate as the state split. If Troy can get his message out and make up the huge funding gap.he can easily win Maine University of New Hampshire poll put him as a slight favorite 3 percent lead over Collins.

Deregulated campaign spending and excess time for campaigning favor the best fund raisers instead of candidates with the best ideas.  To level field for democracy, laws should limit campaign time and spending as in other countries with fairer electoral systems.

FYI the Democrats stopped using Democrat Party as their Primary source of political funding YEARS Ago! The Democrats mastered Private Campaign funding even though the Republicans won their Citizens United case!

Democrats get most of their political funding from 3rd parties like ActBlue! Democrats are raising plenty of $ for the Mid Terms & are easily winning big record breaking $ campaigns like in North Carolina! Republicans continue to fumble wasting $ on defeating Thomas Massie & failing to defeat Ken Paxton in Texas.

Dems are a bit too favorable in some of these Dems Senate seats right now, not saying those seats won’t win, I hope they do, but I have them polled 3 points lower which in those cases = Bet vs No Bet.

That is a tad misleading.  Political parties themselves have never been the primary source of campaign funds foe either party for federal elections.  They have usually relied on individual, PACs, fundraising committees -- that is for both parties.

It is also somewhat subjective that the Democrats have 'mastered...funding'.  Both parties have becomes very adept at fundraising.  Which party raises the most depends on cycle and election.

Citizens United was the plaintiff in the SC case -- not the Republican Party.  The decision benefits both parties because it allows corporations and unions to make unlimited expenditures.

Democrats simply do not get 'most of their funding from 3rd parties like ActBlue'.  ActBlue is not a donor and not a 3rd party funding source.

They are a payment processing platform.  Just like WinRed is.

The money comes from individual donors that use ActBlue and not ActBlue, itself.

I would not say they are unique in NC.  Both parties have raised record amounts there.  That is true but a tad overstated.

I agree that the Democrats are raising plenty of money for the midterms.  However, there is more to it than just the money aspect.  

Because both parties have raised plenty of money.  Its is not like they are going from 500K to 50M -- that would matter.  50M to 80M would have far less of an impact.

A lot of them are going to come down to the economy (or folk's perception of it), the view of the Trump at that time, quality of candidate -- but mainly voter turnout.

You can raise far more money but if your campaign does not resonant enough to get the key voting blocs to turn out and vote -- you can still lose.

The key will be effective campaigning in a lot of places; others will be determined more by folk's 'feelings' at that current time.

 He is correct.  At this point Colins has out raised him 16-2.  Of course, that is not the only way funds will come in.  
But I don’t see anything wrong with his point.  If you want to bet Collins, a point can be made that she has a lead that might only increase.  
Troy getting in helped lower the odds for the ‘quality of candidate’ reason I mentioned.  He is just more palatable than Platner and seen as stronger.  But if the money continues to be overwhelming and the party cannot create separation on the issues and gin up turnout — then the odds might climb,  So, I see nothing wrong with that way of looking at it.

No, your point in NC is fine.  It is just overstated. Both parties are raising lots of money.  As more and more money is raised the difference it makes  diminishes — as in the hypothetical I gave.  That is when other factors become more important.

Then I pointed out that both parties are doing fine raising money for the midterms.

No economist will agree they are the 'main factors'.  Of course, they have affected energy and grains and fertilizer.  

But the slight upward trend this year is due to many other factors.

So, you have to wonder after the inflation coming soar down from 2022 and 2023 if it bottomed out and now has to go up a bit; or if it may just be a slight bump before it settles back down.

Then you also have to wonder whether the economy is really 'bad' to the point of getting great turnout on that issue alone.

There are a lot of strengths in the economy now.  You cannot say it is booming, but it certainly is not in a recession.

So, if the media can 'convince' enough folks that this is a 'bad' economy and they need to get out and vote for that reason -- time will tell.

Again, this is opinion.  That is fine.  Sure, some polls will show a drop in his approval.  However, that would not establish as fact that he has lost 25% of his base.  You would have to define exactly what you mean by 'his base' -- it could mean MAGAs, Republicans, or simply folks that voted for him.

It is also misleading to equate older and FOX just because older folks have higher mortality rates. So, to me that is overgeneralizing.

Depends on your point of view, degree, speeches, writings, or experience.  You have misunderstood what I have said.  I have never said, and likely never will say, the media have a clue.  A lot of them are agenda-driven and do surface level 'reporting' only.  I know a lot of them and some are pretty decent, especially the ones I have met that have been abroad and in the field.  But the honchos that set the narrative and direct the 'reporting' are the ones I generally have problems with.

Sure, that is the prevailing theory.  That is why they all tend to go somewhat centrist to get the nomination.  But if the economy were to start truly tanking and the Iran situation drags on -- anything besides a Republican might look better.  So, I would never rule out absolutely it could not happen.  You can never underestimate how emotional, and therefore, unreasonable the average voter can be.

This is also too speculative.  Negative campaigning often works or no one would do it.  But to make a value judgement on their strategy is okay.  However, I would like to see it backed up by something more.  Various campaigns can be run differently.  Trump has made himself someone that is easy to run 'against'.  But the differentiation has to be made between the exact candidates and their stances.  That is where the 'solutions' come into play.  What if the Republican candidates do not have 'solutions' either.

Not sure what having guns matter.  Some do; some don't.

The issue is whether they can convince that bloc to vote one way or the other AND if either party can get that bloc out at historical rates to vote.

One side would have to convince them that the Trump agenda has been successful and needs to be continued; the other side would need to make them think going back to a Bidenesque environment would be better.

There is a lot still to be done by both parties.  But I agree they need a solid message and gameplan by both sides in order to get some separation.

Isn't this mostly opinion and speculation.  Why can't they drag on?  They have certainly down it before.  The folks tolerated it then as well.  They did not like it.  They might not like fuel concerns but what do you mean they will 'not tolerate' it?  That is speculation and not fact.

This is certainly speculation and not fact.  China influences global growth but the 'strength' of their economy is vastly overestimated by a lot of folks.

Russia is a a major energy exporter.  But their economy is too small to 'prop' up a global economy.

The longterm economy may have some issues like debt, entitlement costs, manufacturing concerns, etc.  But that is not to say the economy is shrinking every year -- no facts support this.

This is a legitimate concern but not fact supported by evidence.

The prediction markets are simply another of information; they are not independent proof that polling is correct.

Temperature is an objective physical measurement.  Polling attempts to measure human opinion.  They do this by sampling.  Even the best of polls will have sampling errors, built-in bias, questionable wording, etc.

The prediction markets have been shown to be a bit more reliable than polls at times.

I will also add that when you are trying to make a convincing argument it is vastly weakened by personal insults.

If you have opinions and speculation that is fine -- we all do.

But if someone questions your opinions and you cannot support what you base it on with data or facts then it is reasonable for a bit pf pushback on why you are steadfast on an unfounded opinion.

You cannot just get frustrated when someone asks for further clarification.

'Bought and paid for'.  This is sated as a factual claim.  Certainly some are associated with parties, schools, media, or advocacies.  But to allege widespread corruption requires evidence.

It is overstated the evidence to say they put forth their agenda.  They may promote polls that show them favorably.  But that is a bit different than implying the manipulate the data.

Again, it is fine to have your own predictions on polls or anything else.  But that is just a statement about something you said previously.

But if you are simply saying you rely on trends across multiple polling outlets to reach a conclusion -- then state it that way.

Everyone commissions polling to see where they stand and to understand public opinion on issues or candidates better.  But that is far from intentionally manipulating the data.  You almost have to see if there are outlier polls.  Say if most polls are calling for a deadbeat and the outlier is saying one is ahead by 8 points, or something along those lines.  Then that one should deserve extra scrutiny.  You cannot assume ALL of the others are wrong because of intentional manipulation.

If Trump can end Military Attacks until after the Mid Terms his approval rating will go up to possibly 40%! So far Trump has done a remarkable job of keeping Energy Prices low compared to where they should be $8 a gallon of gas & bankruptcies everywhere!
