i've seen a few articles on polls in the last few days that came to
three different conclusions- ryan has helped romney close the gap, ryan
has hurt romney and ryan has made no difference. these so called news
outlets love reporting on polls because it's easy, someone else did the
work already, people seem to like them if they validate their
preexisting positions and it keeps these amateurs from having to do the
last thing they ever want to do, which is actual investigative
journalism into real issues.

The poor are in worst shape than 4 years ago.The gas is going to be obamas nail in the coffin. The simple fact is peoples walllets will sent the tone for the election.The polls are misleading,on election day middle america will say things are worst.The blacks will not turn out in record numbers like last time. Obama still will get 93% or so, in 2008 he got about 96% of the black vote.As simple as it seems the gas will win the election for romney.

Its amazing how the right wingers believe some corporate fat cat shill is going to help regular folks. They just cant look out and see the big picture. Romney is only gonna help his rich buddies get richer and thats it.
My God the right wingers couldnt find a guy who actually cares about the little guy?
I really dont want to cast my vote for Obama, but there is just no way i could ever vote for romney and his clown running mate

So you live your life based on the stock market?? Your house is worth half what it was and gas costs double what it did, plus one million less people are working, twice as many are on food stamps, and the future looks grim.
CLEARLY worse than 2006, when the Dems took over Congress. Absolutely no question about it.

It has been a tough few years for me.
When Bush was in office I was offered jobs left and right in the area. As a veteran with a college degree with engineering experience I was fairly courted by some of the leading industries in the area.
But, after barry got into office, I lost my awesome job in the Coal industry (75K/yr) when Barry had his temper tantrum against coal, and started shutting down plants.
The industries in West Virginia have struggled mightily under Barry. I had to move to DC for a while and work with the illegals in construction jobs to get by.
The jobs out there were finished up, and the company I was working with downsized a bit ( gas prices, and limited investment in new construction in the area, a byproduct of stagnant growth).
I came back and worked as a Security guard, and investigations specialist for companies that I hated, for shitty pay.
I still do not make as much as I used to. I have a new job, and will clear 55K this year, but nothing compared to the old salad days of the Bush years.

The unemployment rate is higher now than when Obama was sworn in.
There are fewer people working in America now than there were in 1985.
The debt has gone up 40%
The stock market isn't the economy.
When Nancy & Harry took over Congress, the U/E rate was 4.6%.
"Bush years" doesn't mean what you think it means.

"The little guy" has been absolutely decimated by the Obama Administration's economy.

Ricky..thanks for being honest about your jobs situation..
First of all, I want you know that I worked in Wash D.C for 10 years..On my days off, I use to drive to W.Va just for the peace and serenity.
Even though I tease you, I loved that State.. and always fought for the coal miners rights and safety. I hated the way Big Corp owners abused them, always trying to get more and more production out of the. Remember in 1960 they didn't have the those new safety laws and standards. Thank unions for those laws.. because the government would not have put those laws in place.
Here's the problem for the country...we are in a transition period from coal to natural gas, because of new technology. In my area alone, Central Florida, Stanton power plant, is natural gas, piped in from Texas. See link

If it were just a transition between nat. gas and coal, there would be reasonable turnover, and opportunities in this area.
The fact of the matter is that is not the case.
I saw 3 coal fired power plants that were compliant with the emission standards shut down for no reason.
Essentially to create scarcity where there was none, and make multinational power conglomerates wealthy.

But Rick, you can't blame Obama for that... Our Stanton plant was transferred from coal in 2003. It says that in the link I provided.
The fact of the matter is we need all forms of energy, including coal. But we need to get off this foreign oil strangle hold on us. This maybe the reason your state lost jobs, but green energy companies are popping up everywhere.
Obama is just trying to stop oil companies from the domination they have had on us for decades.

Don, we have to come to the conclusion that when you punish an industry, with higher taxes and higher regulations because you personally believe that they are "evil".
When you go on national television and threaten that coal companies will go bankrupt if they choose to continue their business.
When you arbitrarily use your office to shut down viable plants that would help lower electricity costs for millions.
Whist.
Giving government handouts to "green companies".
Using taxpayer dollars on hairbrained schemes like Solyndra
and sink vast resources into unproven power sources like wind and solar.
You have to deal with the economic consequences.
It would be one thing If Obama had tried to provide a "basket" like approach, investing in green energy as a point of progress, but what he did was attack the Coal industry head on.

it's odd then, that the blue states have the super high costs of living, exorbitant RE prices, high taxes, the dems are the ones that root on high stock market valuations. How does any of that help the poor? SOunds more like they are doing the bidding of the uber wealthy
