Former Trump campaign lawyer Jenna Ellis pleaded guilty Tuesday in the Georgia election subversion case and will cooperate with Fulton County prosecutors – the third guilty plea in the past week.

At an unscheduled hearing in Atlanta, Ellis pleaded guilty to one count of aiding and abetting false statements, a felony stemming from the election lies that Ellis and other Donald Trump lawyers peddled to Georgia lawmakers in December 2020.

She was sentenced to five years of probation and ordered to pay $5,000 in restitution.

No surprise another lawyer regrets working for Trump who drags people into legal trouble.  No reputable lawyer should work for him.  He is a terrible client who lies constantly, ignores legal advice or refuse to pay bills.  He orders frivolous lawsuits or appeals without any chance of winning.  No other president has so many former associates indicted or convicted of crimes.  Or associates opposed to his re-election as president.

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (AP) — Republican presidential candidate Ron DeSantis criticized House Republicans Wednesday, lamenting to a crowd in southwestern Iowa that he has “not noticed much of a difference” since they edged into the majority after the 2022 midterm elections.
