😲 Rising FASCISM in America under MAGA rule!

MSNBC reports that Trump wants to create civil disturbance force against American protesters. But troops are trained to kill people. They are not trained in law enforcement. This is a extraordinary attempt to exceed executive power by misusing military for policing. To reduce crime, Trump administration should restore federal funding to support local law enforcement instead of spending cuts.

Soldiers are not trained to kill people - they are trained to follow commands no matter what their instincts tell them to do - and work as a unit - if a threat demands to be neutralised they will do that (and they are of course going through some training that prepare them for that) - but they also undergo training that are focused on helping the counterparty

US constitution gives the power of policing to states.  Governors reject militarization of cities because troops aren't needed for work better handled by local police.  Trump is trying to manufacture a crisis, politicize the military and continue to abuse power.  Polls show DC residents see deployment as a power play instead of attempt to reduce crime.  Chicago mayor urges Trump out-of-control administration not to send national guard and has ordered police not to collaborate with military if deployed.

Trump's Department of Homeland Security announced today it’s terminating a form of humanitarian relief for Venezuelans living in the US, urging them to self deport.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem already moved to end protections for about 300,000 Venezuelans with deportation protections earlier this year.

The latest move affects another roughly 250,000 Venezuelan immigrants who arrived in the US and enrolled in the 2021 program.

Courts have already ruled that ending humanitarian protection for immigrants and foreign aid are illegal. However polls show most Americans disapprove of Trump administration repeatedly defying laws approved by congress. Contempt for rule of law is among characteristics of fascism.

 The funny part of your post is the flow of drugs comment, this has to be humor on your part because the flow of drugs will never slow even if the King proclaims it so.

Drugs ebb and flow all of the time. Supply/demand rises and falls just like with any commodity.

Don't take this as aggression, because it feels like things have mellowed around here, but this is clearly a subject you're uninformed on. Why not leave it be?

I don't think the flow of drugs belongs to "libs". Liberals don't want drugs on the streets any more than conservatives. We just differ on prevention strategy.

Unlike immigrants, most convicted drug traffickers are American citizens because they are less likely to be stopped at borders.

I responded to him as well. And I responded to you because you posted a falsehood as if it were fact.

You're not wrong but illegal immigrants ARE heavily involved in the drug trade. The Cartels use Mexican Americans but they also use foot soldiers, illegals, from places like Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala, Costa Rica.

Nothing I said was inaccurate, the flow of drugs has not and will not slow so please feel free to show me with fact that this has ever been the case. The facts are that the suppliers are light years ahead of enforcement, their supply is a multiple of what we see entering the country and THEY control the supply because of simple economics, prices would crash if their TRUE supply were to enter the US. Trump has done absolutely nothing to slow the drug supply, nor could he and Biden did not impact the drug supply in either direction. The only way to impact the supply from an enforcement perspective is to completely isolate and slow down the entry and exit to the country, inspect every single person and item and up the container search requirements at ports to be 100%, this is impossible and that is why the drug supply is not reduced and will not be reduced unless the suppliers choose to reduce it for pricing purposes.

I never said, or even agreed, that the flow of drugs had been interrupted. I responded to your comment that the flow of drugs will never slow down. You have made similar comments before. And it's false. There have been many historicall large bust, and many supply chain disruptions, that slow the flow of drugs. And when these things happen, like with any commodity, you see supply issues, cost increases, etc. This is just a fact. The mechanism doesn't cease to exist but that doesn't mean it can't be disrupted.

 Well I can state again what I just stated but it seems obvious you are not understanding the facts of supply in the reply you just made. If some or even a great deal of drugs are seized that does not mean supply has been reduced or slowed, that means some supply has been seized and that is all, it has absolutely nothing to do with supply of product. If suppliers wanted to double the quantity they could tomorrow, if they wanted to reduce the supply entering the country they can and could if their pricing purpose was met or say if there was a new competitor in the market and it was reducing pricing.

True supply is a large multiple of what we see in this country and for sure seizures tick off the supplier but it does not slow supply at all and that is because there are a multitude of options for supply to the US and really any capitalist country. You are trying to nitpick a comment and are completely missing the truth and fact about what I said. Trump has not and cannot impact supply, at BEST enforcement can make delivering supply more costly and difficult but it has never been slowed due to enforcement.
