So wrong, its almost comical. Actually it is comical.

I've been playing heads-up online since 2005 and have documented almost all of it. When I play $10 Heads up, I will win about 37 out of 50...When I play $100 Heads up, I'll win about 27..

Higher the money, tougher the competition..Now if you played a pro who's game was mostly headsup you would get annihilated. Absolutely killed. Literally by the 25th match, the pro would almost be able to guess your two cards in any given situation.

Heads-up takes much more skill than sitting at a table with 9 guys, even though it might not be as profittable. Which sucks for me.

You can definitely see the skill differential in the tournaments you can play in Vegas.  The difference is even very evident in the lower levels.  Just try playing in one of the $100 "Donkaments" at Ceasers or Aria.   Then try playing a $400 Deep Stack at the Venation. You can definitely notice the level of difficulty rise from from the Donkament and the Deep Stack where you do have some lower level pros play in.

Good discussion .I think Uncle Arthur saying that poker is 80%luck and 20% skill   is not accurate Usually I hear that from the ones who have lost at the game a lot, who have taken some bad beats along the way .Not realizing  the way they played the hand or the fact that they did call a raise with KJ for ex.  is why they lost a big amount .You will hear these unlucky bad beat stories ,but when you breakdown the whole hand you see its skill or lack of that made you play the hand to start ,or call a raise you shouldn't of ,.Of course luck is involved  and maybe more  in short term ,.but I feel Skill has a lot more to do with it .In Tornys I feel skill is what gets you through to the final table  ,,its luck that gets you to cash. When I play a Tornys  I know I can play my best poker but still have to get lucky on 2 or 3 hands for me to win .but to say  its 80% luck ? then why would you put your hard earned money down .You would probably do better at the slots with that theory. The more skilled player will win 7out of 10 games everytime .That's why the same guys are on TV the same guys are the top earners ,The same guys are at the poker tables ./They pray for the fish that thinks its all about luck there skill will let them observe that and know how to capitalize on it

Reminds me of what happened in a tournament I played in yesterday.  I guy raises in early position and gets a caller after him near the button, everybody else folds.  Flop comes J - 9 - 7 (suits don't matter here).  Initial raiser makes a sizable raise, the guy who called preflop goes all in after him.  After some time the initial raiser calls.  The guy who went all in flips J-7, the initial raiser who called his all is flips A-J.  Turn comes 3.  River comes 9.  The donk who called the initial raise with J-7 off is knocked out of the tournament and is all pissed and says to the other guy "you got lucky".  umm, no he didn't get lucky.  You lost because you made a shitty call, flopped two pair, and counterfited to the much better hand.  It is exactly this scenerio to why you don't call that preflip raise with such a garbage hand.  Because even if you do make a hand, there is a good chance someone will make a hand better than yours.

Poker is mostly about Luck...more or less period. Skill can only take you so far in a game of chance.
