Problem solved. To be honest, not much happens when you burn a bookie. People might tell you otherwise, but 100% of it is bullshit. In the 70's when the mob ran things you might have to worry. However, that isn't the way things work anymore.
You should pay, but if you don't, so what? People might not like that statement, but bookies aren't much different than drug dealers. They don't hurt people? You don't think gambling fucks up more lives than drugs? What do you know, more druggies or gamblers?
Before the shitstorm, let me ask you this. You said that you've lost probably 100k, gambling over the years. Do you think that this bookie has made money on you? My guess is yes. Was there ever really a risk to him? No. Can he afford to lose some "money" that really wasn't his (as in his pocket) to begin with? Yes. It's part of this business.

Maybe this is a good thing because maybe I do have a problem and I need help and the last thing I want to do is move to Vegas and really fuck up my life and I wasn't planning on attending GA meetings but after this tirade tonight I really do have a serious problem and I see that now. I never really admitted it before. I thought I could quit on my own and I did for a few months but obviously I didnt really quit and I think I really need support from other people to help me stop.

Is this really necessary? I know this is the penalty box and all but come on man. The dude had a serious problem and finally admitted and hopefully he gets help. Instead of wishing him luck like a normal human being you and a couple others wish him to hurt himself. Why? Does it make you feel better if he did? I really hope you take a closer look at the mirror and if there is ever a time that you or on the ledge I hope that you have someone next to you telling you to jump. Sad... really is!
