Every addict I've ever heard has said that. I don't believe in the god aspect of the 12 step program, but the premise is great. That "one day at a time" thing really works if you approach it that way. I'm not sure if addiction is a disease. However, if it is, you have it. I suggest you speak with others that can help.
Also, if you need attention they will give you plenty of it there. They don't get charged for bandwidth either. Win-win situation.
