Gruden's emails were totally unimportant to the "investigation" until he called Goodell names. The two have a bad relationship. Roger saw an opportunity to let the court of public opinion hang Gruden rather than himself. Always cleaner that way. As James Bond would say "Well played"

 The players bought into the new coach's excitement and that gave them good energy early. Now the honeymoon is over and they realize he might not have the Xs and Os to go along with it.  Mo will want to play his recruits more which makes sense.  I think there is talent on the roster, but the halftime adjustments and playbook aren't there

Interesting line to draw. Criminals can play in the NFL but bigots with no criminal record can't coach. Also, the networks rush to hire the likes of Ray Lewis, a criminal implicated in the murder of two men and who admitted to obstructing justice in the murder investigation, but bigots with no criminal record can't coach.
