If I thought I only had a 50/50 chance of winning this bet I would not be risking this many units. You see, some of us actually break a game down and come to a conclusion instead of spouting bullshit- and I quote from your thread -
OK, I was wrong about Arizona this weekend. Now Im a believer! This is a different animal with the defense playing decent and the offense clicking on all cylinders. The Super Bowl will be played in decent weather in Miami. As much as I respect the Pittsburgh defense I believe that Arizona is a team of destiny. Cardinals to the bank!
You keep flipping your coin, and I'll keep analyzing games and providing winners. I could lose 50 units on this game and still be ahead for the NFL season. I know my strengths as a bettor, I am outstanding on isolated games like this one or Monday Night football. I'll bet on the x's & o's and manage my own bankroll, you ride that team of destiny bullshit. If you think the expected outcome is a 50/50 proposition every time, you really need to find another hobby.
I am so sorry I doubted your superior analytical skills and all the hours of research you have spent on this and the countless other threads you have going in here. If you are dumping 17 units on this game then you must know the Steelers are gonna blow out the Cardinals. My numbers indicate Arizona winning by a field goal. I will bet one unit on that.

Ask yourself this - do I really want to back a defense that gave up nearly 500 yards in their home stadium last weekend?
Look, I'm not saying Arizona can't win or cover, it's football, anything can happen. They are a nice story, but they aren't getting my money.
3rd_and_Long: Greatly respect your insights (MLB too) and enjoyed rooting the Phils wit'cha this year. And I really don't even have a reason for posting other than you start at the top by saying that you're leaning Pittsburgh and have a long time to decide...than you post the "above" quote...sounds to me that you've in fact made up your mind...that is ~ unless you're NOT going to play the game at all? But let's be honest...I doubt that.
I am NOT sure on a "side" as yet...regardless, I wish you and might even end up on your side. I do have several "live" teasers with Cards +19.5 & +20 (13pts) but not sure what to do with the "posted" line...funny thing is...the line doesn't even really come into play in the Super Bowl (historically speaking)...you basically just have to come up with the "Winner".
Best wishes & always enjoyed reading your threads! Look forward to rootin' for the Phitans in 2009!
Good Luck & !

More and more everyday I'm liking the Steelers. At first I was all over the Cards but with the people I work with jumping on the Cards makes me believe Tomlin and LeBeau will win this game.

I can't wait to see his post Monday... It will read something like
"Ohhh Knooooowss, I should have listen to myself rather than following all the meathead steeler lovers...I kneeeeeeew iiiiiitttttt"
I got my sources why the Steelers are going to win and cover. It has nothing to do with Covers.com or the ppl on this site. Capping rule 101, don't be a smuck & don't be too damn arrogant over a pick. From reading most of your posts, you are too much of a homer to see the other angle. Don't take it personal, everybody trying to make money bro. BOL to you and all the backers.

i am all over the steelers from the minute we knew the super bowl teams. i thought the line would be around 9 but i was shocked at 7 and even 6'. the only way arizona wins is if there defense completely shuts down pittsburghs running game and force ben to throw like 40 times. that is the only chance they have to win. other than that good luck. pittsburgh in a blow out. there running game will open up a couple tricks plays and long play action passes for ben. kurt should keep it close for 3 quarters . but the running game is too much for them to handle.... good luck with whatever people pick i cant wait for the game.

What a clown! I didnt post that because you are going with the Steelers. You started off the thread undecided and thinking out loud. Then after making a decision to go with the Steelers you are going to empty your account and bet 7 units on it with potentially another 10 units for a total of 17 units if you are being honest. A unit (whatever it is) is usally a standard bet on a game. Just because its the Super Bowl is not a good reason to empty the bank on it. Not smart money management. I want others that are not experienced bettors to know that and be wise with thier dollars. I would say fuck yourself but you are trying to do that anyways. Dont worry, you have a 50-50 chance of winning.
This tells me you know nothing about the guy and how he bets, you are basing your assumption of his gambling habits on this thread, and that is sad.
This man is the epitome of Money Management.

what a post. Good stuff 3rd.
my 2 cents...I feel a blow out. The only thing that concerns me as a Pitt backer is Ben. I don't trust this guy. It kills me how none of the experts point out his most important flaw that he can't throw to a wr off a break. that is why the guy is running around on every play looking like he can't find an open receiver. the guy has to be wide open for him to throw it. i'm just worried that this knucklehead will turn the ball over. Yes, i know, i'm letting my dislike for the guy cause error in my judgement.
I know, pitt is the play but i just have reservations about the QB.
Best of luck to you and your dad.

I think you just broke your Capping rule 101...
Because we all know that nothing is guaranteed on picking a side because anything can happen. Only thing we as bettors can do is try and be on the side that has a better chance at covering...
Oh and sources? Classic...

I've had issues with him and the o-line all season. Ben, his o-line, and the Steelers run game have gotten it together over the last several weeks, I feel comfortable making this play.
And thanks about my dad.

My source said that the Cards win by 10 pts. Cards up by 3 late in the game and BIg Ben is intercepted by Rolle and return for a TD that seal the first Superbowl win for the Cards.
GLA.

What about 46.5 over ? Any leans on 1 half ? Leaning arizona 1 half, they do start pretty good, little bit scare on steelers second halves, but I do expect arizona to cover the whole game thoughts really appreciated.
Buena suerte
