Bengals 1H -6.5(-110) *1.10/1.00
I've been looking at this game pretty hard for a couple days. I was ready to hit the Bengals -10.5 last night before the Jeffrey Simmons news(I had no idea this would happen). I chose to wait another day.
Here's a few things that stood out.
Last week, the Bengals looked absolutely awful vs the Ravens in the 1H, getting skunked 0-13. And that was coming off a bye. Not sure why they came out so lame, had only 4 drives, 3 ended with punts, and the last one time ran out.
This game in particular does not define the Bengals. They are a very good 1H team otherwise, ranked #10 in the 1H by most PR's. Their opponent that day(Ravens) are the #1 ranked 1H team. Makes sense now that they got their ass beat, plus it was otr against a divisional team, and maybe they were a little indolent off the bye.
The Titans are the worst 1H team in the NFL. Averaging 5.3 ppg, and only 2.3 ppg otr. Ranked #32 by PR's.
So maybe they've had a tough road, and/or played good competition? Nope. Their sos is #32. They've gone 0-7 su in the 1H this year. Going scoreless twice, and scoring only 3 twice.
The Bengals sos is #6, they've gone 3-2-1 su in the first half this year. With 4 of their 6 games being otr so far.
The Bengals are #2 overall dvoa right now. The Titans are #31.
The Titans just traded away their best player, and the only thing they have to look forward to next week is a bye week.
I think that the Titans are tired, they played their asses off against the Browns last week. Tie game with 1:00 left where they fell victim to Deshawn Watson's 5th fourth quarter comeback of the year.
The Bengals last week played only 1 half basically, and they made the good half look really easy, otr vs a divisional team. They are in a super tough afc north, and I don't think they can afford a slip up here. They don't want to come out of the locker room looking like they did vs the Ravens, imo.
Good Luck
