Had no Involvement financially in this game, but that may have been the worst call I've ever seen. Not even close in any way shape or form.

If Tate didn't have any possession, why was it so hard for Jennings to rip the ball away?

Listen, on the playground, this is a Packers interception, no doubt

but for the most of you to call Van, me and others idiots for interpreting the NFL rule as a possible Touchdown here, well.....you don't know enough of the rules or it's just a difference of opinion

BUT, it was damn close, by the letter of the NFL Law

And based on the NFL rule, it shouldn't have been a catch. And the fact it was a replay and still wrong, makes it worse (Let's not even mention it was blatant offensive pass interference). The rule clearly states the play was an interception:

Simultaneous Catch. If a pass is caught simultaneous by two eligible opponents, and both players retain it, the ball belongs to the passers. It is not a simultaneous catch if a player gains control first and an opponent subsequently gains control.

So if Tate didn't have any hands on the ball then why didn't Jennings just roll away with the ball?

     It's over........let it go

as I said earlier.. There has not been one football person/on air talent that has said it was even close. I know they like drama... but it tells you something when NOBODY says "yeah it was a TD".. NOT ONE!!!!

You saw what you saw..but I'd rather be on the side where 500000000000000 people are standing with me saying it was an interception, than 200 people say it was CLEARLY a TD.

We're talking straight up NFL nuthuggers on the air saying it's not a TD..even NFL execs are messaging them saying this is a blown call...

but you can stick with what you saw..that's ok too

Deezy and CD, you're just not going to get it. Tate's arm is between the ball and Jennings's chest. This is why he cannot rip the ball away from Tate immediately. When they come down, Tate has at least his whole left arm on the ball, plus right hand. After that, Jennings is trying to roll over and rip it away and he cannot until 20-30 seconds later

Its amazing how real people who do this shit for a living everyday and our involved in the game 24/7 call it a INT, but some in this thread say they know more then all these other football people.

Dont get me wrong. I can appreciate it when it's divided

Schayes, not a single media person is going to say it was a TD for fear of being black balled in the industry. Also, I would say you don't know marketing. This ending is actually one of the best things that can happen to the NFL. All anyone is going to talk about tomorrow and likely the rest of the week is the NFL. ESPN is going to make loads of money too. Ratings, webhits, and all the controversy. The owners will just dig in harder after this.

Gabbo, listen am gonna take the word of a longtime ref knowing the rulebook better then you any day of the week.

Austin clearly explained when the replay was happening, why it was an int. I doubt you know more then him or any of the other nfl people who are blowing up the net right now about this call.

CD - it is more effective to make your own position and debate it than try to say you are on the same side as your "expert".

    Just saying.

Why not state your position and debate it.  I stated mine.  I dont care if Jerry Austin or someone else disagrees or agrees with my interpretation - until there are FACTS presented one way or the other, it is interpretation.

What you are doing shows weakness.

Think about this Schayes and CD, count how many times tomorrow you talk or hear about this game. That is how good the ending is for the NFL.

Vanzack, normally I agree with almost all of your points, but quit while you are behind with this poor argument.

CD, Austin has a clear conflict of interest. If he thinks this is good for the refs union position, he will always say it's an INT.

Schayes, NFL just earned themselves millions of dollars in free advertising. This is exactly why people keep going back to Lohan, Paris Hilton, and the Kardashians.

well van, on my tv i clearly saw the packer guy have control and possession of the ball, while hitting the ground, then the seattle player just kept ripping at the ball until he finally got it.

also to call using an expert who knows the job and performed it for 25 years weak, is pretty funny.

I think getting an expert to answer the question is the best thing to do and his answer should be worth more then a bunch of gamblers watching it tv, who have never reffed a game in their lives.

If you need you car fixed, do you ask an expert to fix it, or somebody off the street who doesnt have a clue.

So i think your case is pretty weak.

Like I said, to the blind eye, and on the playground, it's clearly an Interception....I'm not debating that....and that's what most TV guys are harping on.....most of them don't even know the rules

I'm saying it was close, damn close, by the letter of the NFL law on that rule...and it could've been called either way.....and I think, by the rule, it was called correctly

    We will see guys....

I think by tomorrow there will be clarifications and much more opinions about the play and the interpretation.

If I see a replay or another angle or a rule that makes my position wrong - I will state it here.  Im just calling it like I see it and understand it.

    Should be interesting....
