I don't care what some old ref says or what most of those bandwagon TV ex players say.....most of them are as clueless as the general covers membership

If they were experts they could pick winners better too!

If the NFL comes out and explains why it was a blown call not only would I admit I had this all wrong - I would be extremely happy to learn what the definition of possession is and how it applied to that circumstance.

I have watched the replay about 20 times, from different angles and can not see how anybody in their straight minds says it clearly is an interception.........

question: If it was a clear interception, with Tate not having part of the ball, wouldnt Jennings come back to the ground, standing, with two feet and hold the ball straight up in the air???? my god

CD, all I'm saying is that there is definitely merit to saying that it was a simultaneous catch and TD. And like Vanzack said, until you prove any point I made incorrect, there's not much point. As for the NFL, they will say whatever they want to say to better their position. It's exactly what corporations and politicians do.

Like I said, count how many times you talk, read, or hear about the NFL tomorrow.

Going to agree with Vanzack on this one. Have looked at this several times in slow motion. Tate has is hand in between Jennings body and the ball and brings his other hand around as they are going to the ground. It's a really tough cal that is being magnified by the fact that the NFL has D3 officials running around confused.

Bottom line I didn't see Tate have any possession of the ball unless you qualify wrestling on the ground for the ball when they play is supposed to be over possession.  But the refs called it dual possession and that is the way it was called so Van and company I guess you are right along with the officials

CD, let me ask this. If Jennings has so much control, how come he can't rip the ball away from Tate even though Jennings is rolling around all over the place? Not only does Jennings have a better position, but he is also bigger than Tate.

Steve, you're late to the party. But that's 20-30 seconds after it was already called a TD.

Link doesn't work and Jennings had possession FIRST and went to the ground, THEN Tate gets a hand in on the ball. There WAS no simultaneous possession AT ALL because Jennings went over Tate and caught it first.

You people are nuts, I  guess Gruden, the ex ref in the booth, the whole ESPN panel and 99% of the population who saw it are blind!!
Congrats on winning your bet, but the Packers got fuked and every rational person knows this. All the SeaHawk boards and forums are in agreement that GB got fuked, except the clueless.

The real question is if it was ruled an int would you really be arguing simultaneous possession??

and whoever was talking about the pension with the refs leading to NFL players pensions and care is right..its a business and it ALL boils down to $

    to add to controversy

    check the pic

    https://news.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/seahawks-stun-packers-one-craziest-most-controversial-endings-042606665--nfl.html

jennings foot is out of bounds as black ref runs in to make the ball in the background.  Since it's ruled dual possession would it be incomplete since one foot is out of bounds?  Guess it depends on when possession was ruled

Agree. It's much closer than everyone's making it out to be. People want something to push this to the breaking point and are all jumping on this one play, which was actually a fairly difficult call if you don't get caught up in the ESPN analyst shitshow. The truth is, there are hundreds of bad calls that have already been made by these idiots, many worse than this. And they ALL AFFECT THE OUTCOMES! Especially when you take point spreads into account. You don't think all these bullshit PI calls are affecting the totals on these games? PS: The 'real refs' suck too. Mainly because with all this crackdown on hitting no one even knows the fucking rules for defensive players anymore.

vanzack  - Simultaneous Catch. If a pass is caught simultaneous by two eligible opponents, and both players retain it, the ball belongs to the passers. It is not a simultaneous catch if a player gains control first and an opponent subsequently gains control.

Are you guys still yapping about this....it was clearly an INT....and in either case it should have been a PI call...the question should be how the hell did the refs not see Tate push Shields in the back knocking him down...

Hopefully this call will cause enough bad press to get the real refs back...

That picture is after they both came down with the ball, so it doesn't add much to the argument. Here's the whole page of rules to consider from nfl.com.  https://static.nfl.com/static/content/public/image/rulebook/pdfs/11_Rule8_ForwardPass_BackPass_Fumble.pdf

not sure about that as the neither ref had made the call yet so technically he is out of bounds.

So we're just supposed to forget about all the other bullshit calls that also affected the outcome of this and focus on the last one? The whole thing was a clusterfuck!

Everyone's saying "Yes, Tate had a hand on the ball, but Jennings had possession. Tate clearly didn't".

Since when can you NOT catch a pass with one hand? It was simultaneous possession, which goes to the offense. 75% of the public was on the pack. You're not going to win this argument against so many people who feel cheated.

Yes, there was pass interference. Penalties go uncalled all the time. Just so happens this one went uncalled on a "questionable" play. Get over it.

P.s. The refs suck, but can you really argue that they never had any bullshit calls against Seattle too? Furthermore, stop saying it's fixed. Yes.... the referees fixed it to where Wilson throws a 50 yard hail mary to fuck you guys over.... That's it. Pretty sure if it was fixed it would have never come to a play like that.
