So these spots are exactly the same you are saying??
People are saying that the Steelers were without Polamalu and Miller and that they were reason why the Jets won Week 15. The oddsmakers knew that those two players were out and the line was set at -3.5. They are both playing this week and the line is set at -3.5 again. Obviously, the oddsmakers don't value those players as much as Steeler backers.

Pitt played a very generic game vs the Jets last time part and parcel because of Troy not playing and because in fact that game really meant zero to them.. Huge for the Jets in off two losses ..They knew (due to mind numbing tie breakers win or lose they still had to win the last two games for homefield) In fact after they lost they got a playoff spot and win or lose they still would have needed the last two.. They played a base defense just in case the Jets came back in later and wala.. Pitt outgained the Jets by 100 yards and gave up a TD on a KO and a safety and still were on the 10 yard line at the end of the game trowing it in the end zone for a win.. No Troy and Miller (TE) who much like Heap for Balty is huge.. A basic defensive game plan (not sure if kiesel (dt) played) and a slightly disinterested Pitt team will not occur this time.. Jets are a fine team but dont confuse the last game with this one..
Yes, it meant so little that Tomlin left his starters in until the very last play trying their hardest to win the game.

Never said they were not trying to win.. But Pitt will not be so basic this time around and the atmosphere will be 3x what it was last time.. Watch how sanchez gets touched this time..gl..
Be careful with the axe Eugene.

When the Jets played the Steelers in week 15, the Steelers pash rush did not even touch Sanchez. Not even once. The Jets also ran for over 100 yards vs. the Steelers. No other team in the league did this all season
Pittsburgh won't mind if you run it 27 times for 106 yards. Pittsburgh would have won that game if not for KO return for TD. Farrior had a sack as well! Sanchez completed one pass over 11 yards. Snap, step, step, dump it off safely. It's not like he was hanging in the pocket all day.

The Jets' offensive game plan does not require Sanchez to complete many long passes. And yes, you are right, Farrior did have a sack but that was about it in terms of pressure. The Jets have a top offensive line and will be able to block all game. Special teams is a huge part of the game my man you cannot under any means discredit that. This should be a hard-fought, close, physical game.

I don't think the steeler's are going to get the ball 3 of their first 4 drives in the 2nd half inside the jets 25 like last saturday or complete a 3rd and 19 inside 3 minutes of the game
the key to this game with both defenses not giving in is
FOLK vs SUISHAM
who can make a fg with the pressure on
Don't trust either of them

I agree with the game plan for Sanchez. That just doesn't bode well for coming from behind. It also puts a lot of pressure on the defense to play big. Just like the Baltimore game last week, turnovers should swing the momentum. The team that gives up the big spec.teams play or turns the ball over the most is likely to lose. I expect a good game. Fgs aren't a gimme in Pittsburgh. A miss could factor in as well. Thanks for beating the Patriots!

Chances are it was why then won....they are a completely different team without Polamalu. But, thats not important here....the issue is...
You are spreading some serious mis-information here. Oddsmakers did not know he was out the first game - which is why the first game the line opened at 6. To say that they knew he was out is really misleading. That information was not public until days after the line came out and the line moved accordingly. It dropped from 6 to 3.5 throughout the week.
So, in contrast to what you thought was obvious, its beyond obvious, shit, there is proof, real evidence that the oddsmakers have moved the line when they found out those players were out. So, while you are speaking awfully pompous, you are wrong, ease up pal.
I also wouldnt assume these people are Steeler backers. Some of them might be, sure. But some people might be like me, people who like for everyone to know what they are talking about. I want everyone to be educated on the real facts and let them make their decision from there.
The situations and the spots are not the same. That is why the line is different. To reference any other game they have played and the line at that time is misleading. This line was set completely independent of that line.

Pittsburgh would've won that game if not for KO return for TD They still give you 6 pts if you run one back in the playoffs......I guess special teams mean nothing to you while handicapping this game............

I posted the same thing...
Someone tell Brad Smith he is not allowed to return kicks for the potential that he might bring one back and affect the outcome.

Never said they were not trying to win.. But Pitt will not be so basic this time around and the atmosphere will be 3x what it was last time.. Watch how sanchez gets touched this time..gl..
Where in the Jets record, for the past two seasons, does it indicate in any way, shape or form that playing on the road has a negative affect on them in the least?

You're a fool if you think the linebackers forgot how to effectively pass rush just because Polamalu was out...
The Steeleers do not call the same type of blitzes or use the same blitz packages when polamalu is not in there...he is a very unique player on the defensive side of the ball for pitt that allows them to run more "exotics"...they tend to go pretty basic when he doesn't play. pass rushing is often times a lot more than just individual ability...it is a group effort to effectively execute a scheme...pittsburgh nowhere near as effective in pass rush when polamalu doesn't play.

You reference two things that were incorrect citations.
1. The line was not set at 3.5 - it was set at 6, it was bet to 3.5 2. The oddsmakers knowing that those two were out of the previous game and thats why they set the line where they did
I thought it worthwhile for people to know that the line was moved accordingly after the line was set at 6 with the assumption of them playing - mainly Polamalu.
For those that like to read lines, it could be telling that a line that was once set as 6 was now set at 3.5 with the same players - so that could mean a few things....Jets have gotten better. Jets have gotten more recognition. Steelers have gotten worse etc.

I think he was equating the playoff atmosphere in Pitt to the playoff atmosphere in Indy last year - where it was clearly obvious the Jets were in over their heads.
As opposed to the Jets previous two playoff games on the road - the Bengals and the Chargers - where nobody in either stadium cared what happened in those games.
I do think its worth noting, though, that the experience in Indy last year has surely primed them for a big tilt this weekend.
As a Jets backer, I am just leery that they just won their Super Bowl.
