LOL this thread went off on a tangent. Most the games that are fixed will get their info after the bets were made. They need to see what we take first and let the other side win.

any one remember jeff van gundy being fined for speaking out about the collusion of refs calling traveling, and offense of fouls on yao ming?

The "script" was make sure yao ming doesnt get away with traveling and off fouls this game.... Rockets lost van gundy pissed, one of a billion examples

Hey Boston!....Man, that's a whole lot of words, but, ya know what??....It's all the truth!....I've seen more garbage going on in the last 30 years than there is in the sewers of New York!!...And finally a die hard NFL fan, a close friend of mine, attended a game with his son to "cheer on his favorite team!"....Not mentioning team or city....After the game, he was quite distraught because his fav. NFL team , a 10 pt. favorite, lost outright by 7....He went to a bar, and the LB and one of the RB'S were at the bar....Bought them a couple of drinks and bullshitted with them....After saying "That was a tough loss guys!"....One of them replied--"We only do what we're told to do!!!!....My buddy tore his season tickets apart and never went to another game....EVER!!....Case closed to the "gullible ones" here!!!!!!!!!!!

    inthetank - stop lying

the NFL isn't fixed. Vegas simply puts the lines somewhere around where the game "should" end up. Its not hard, I could make the lines for every Sunday without any "scripts" and make money. Yeah some games don't live up to the line but that's just sports, its not fixed or scripted. Thats so dumb

I'm not saying anyone's right or wrong, but I have to ask, so is it the line/over/under that determines the game as OP stated?  Or is the decision made after the final money count right before kickoff?  Or does NFL story lines tell players who to let win based on tv ratings?  Or crooked refs betting on the game effecting the cover/non cover of spreads?  Do all those fixes all want the same sides on big prime time games every week?  And most importantly, which one is most applicable for week 3?

I couldnt find anything fishy about the Pittsburgh @ Cincinatti line at all. But just because you dont find anything fishy about the line it doesnt mean that nothing is up.

You could easily tell that they wanted Cincinatti to cover and the UNDER to hit by watching the game. I didnt know that something was up before the game started.

Its so sick how much impact the refs have on the outcome if the game. That tripping call on the pittsburgh was the lamest call ever, if they had not called that tripping call it would have meant that Pittsburgh would likely to end out and result in a touchdown. And if that had been the case, its 90% that Pittsburgh with the points + the over would hit. Instead the totally opposite happens, Bengals cover and the game goes under. Because of one single call. One single. Its so sick. But it was not just against Steelers, the calls were also against Bengals when they had a good punt return for instance and had a good spot, then they all of a sudden called something against the recieving team. Every calls were against the offense in this game.

Sometimes when the refs want a game to go under, instead of calling a pass interference they call a holding somewhere which can be a matter of 40-50 yards difference sometimes....

Sometimes when the refs want a game to go under, instead of calling a pass interference they call a holding somewhere which can be a matter of 40-50 yards difference sometimes....
. So what's your take on tonight's matchup?

Its so sick how much impact the refs have on the outcome if the game. That tripping call on the pittsburgh was the lamest call ever, if they had not called that tripping call it would have meant that Pittsburgh would likely to end out and result in a touchdown. I think the line is pretty square for tonights match up. I dont see anything fishy about it. I would have set the line about the same.

Theres nothing fishy about the Chiefs line, its set as it should be. Like, i dont think that Eagles should be favored by more or anything. But i do feel like Chiefs will cover this spread for some reasons:

    - Reid headcoach. He wants to make a statement. He wants to prove that he was the right headcoach for Eagles and hes gonna punish Michael Vicks mistake now. Its not the other way around. It WOULD be the other way around if Reid had cut Vick off the roster, if that had been the case then im 100% sure that Vick would have an amazing game. But when its the other way around, Reid is gonna be the guy that will have a good game with good decisions. This indicates Chiefs will cover.

    - Imagine if Chiefs really will go 3-0... That would create lots of hype in Kansas and would certainly be good, also because most people feel like Denver already won the division, now the media can blaze it and act like Chiefs actually have a legit shot of doing something here...

    - Its not really that important for Eagles to win here. Yeah they sure want to end this 8 game losing streak, but thats about it. All the other teams are sucking in the division. Cowgirls lost to Chiefs last week, so what does it matter that Eagles now do that too... It doesnt. Its totally fine. Giants are also looking horrible and may go 0-3 by Sunday.... And Redskins? They look like garbage too... So this means nothing.... Only the divisional games will matter tbh, coz all these teams sucks currently. On the other hand it really does matter for Chiefs as they are really in the hunt for a wild card spot or maybe a surprising upset.

SNF, MNF and TNF all went under. Funny, coz over is usually pounded here coz there is more focus on one game. And all goes under. They will probably let over hit once in SNF and TNF this week is my prediction, otherwise it will be too obv. that something fishy is up. So they will just let one slide

NFL (or any other market) will never be 100% clean.
It is simply impossible due to asymmetric nature of information - some people will always know more than others (who'll be relegated to guessing) .
People who have relevant privileged information will be the only winners.

"Fixing" live game will involve making decisions and executing them on the field under very stressful conditions - whoever is capable of pulling it off will be able to find more gainful employment.

I would have to disagree with you on this..
First off i believe there are quite a few games that don't go the way it should... If its not the coaches, the lines, its the holding calls..
Second of all for some games depending on the week.. They use lines to trick you into the other side.. This other side pays for everything.. This otherside includes all the products you buy when you see an ad.. The merchandise, the hotdogs,, the beer...  And of course the never sleeping city in Vegas..

Third of all i don't think 10% is enough to feed their appetite since half of that goes to taxes.. If you have been to vegas you would know the culture there...

If you read up on wallstreet and everything that goes on there  you should know there is a higher power.. After all its still about profits.. If you take investing your money seriously.. You should think outside of the box think big like them.. It only takes a couple million consumers to create a phenomenon like this but many more dollars than that.. Its rigged and nothing can stop that.. If you want to be a degenerate like the ones you see at casinos sitting on a slot machine for 16 hours.. Keep believing what you see..
