So your two comparisons to Tebow are.

Kordell Stewart - He led his team to 11-5 in his first year and to an AFC championship game. He also had a season where he was 13-3 and went to the probowl. He played in the NFL for almost 10 years.

VY - Won 8 of his first 10 nfl starts, Young went 5-5 the next year, got hurt and never started again in Tennessee. He is now the backup to one of the best QBs in the league.

Yep, you are right. Guys who are run first QBs have no chance to stay or win in the NFL.

Plus I just can't shake the feeling that besides T-Blow being rancid, that he's a phony, too.  I half expect to pick up the paper someday soon and read where he's running with ganagbangers, held up a liquor store or has 6 kids out of wedlock.

Didn't Deadspin do an expose on him once?

Shocking Bejabber. You feel like a guy you refer to as "T-Blow" will in the end turn out to be a huge failure and completly ruin his life.

Hmmm. Someone asked why I refer to all people who dislike Tebow as haters, well its people like this clown who further that stereotype.

I don't hate the dope, I really don't.   I just can't see even a single good thing about him as far as being a legitimate NFL QB is concerned.  Nothing.  Not  a single thing.  Perhaps some day I will be proven wrong. For little timmy's sake, I sure hope so.  I would hate to see him behind bars or living in a cardboard box down by the railroad tracks or underneath some bridge.

    Don't worry Jabber.

Even if Tebow never wins another career start, he will be more successful than 99.9% of covers.

You might want to focus your attention on your own life

Merril Hoge said Tim Tebow just can't play. Hoge said the idea that Tim Tebow should be a starter is absurd. It’s embarrassing to think the Broncos could win with Tebow! Chris carter said why should he be a starter and what has he done? He is not a nfl quarterback. He has only won 15 awards, 2 SEC titles and is a 2 time national champion. Kordell Stewart uses race and said black quarterbacks wouldn’t get the same opportunities and tebow as a starter is a slap in the face to all real quarterbacks. Stephen A Smith said tim tebow is garbage and looks like garbage and is a disgrace and is absolutely pathetic garbage. Rob Parker said tebow can’t play and should be even given a shot at playing. Jon Ritchie said tebow throws like kick offs and is so bad he should take 8 months off and learn to throw right handed.

That’s why this became such a huge story. If these guys would have just said he needs improvement and needs more reps and we will see what he can do. Then there wouldn’t be this controversy but no they had to open their mouths and attack him. Then tebow goes 7-3 as a starter with the most pathetic offense in the nfl and all hell breaks loose.

Congrats. You can name players on the Chiefs offense. That makes them good? Do I even watch or study football? Maybe you should ask yourself that. The fact that you put McClain's name on that list shows how much you really know. He doesn't even have 100 rushing yards on the season. And if Kyle Orton is such a good game manager...why did he lose his job?

Of course I'll be rooting for Orton. Like I've said time and time again...I have nothing against Tebow, but I'm sick about hearing what a great player he is. Because he's not.

And yes...he's had a great run with a ton of breaks. He's been "successful" because he's been winning. But if your entire gameplan for every 6 of 7 games is to win on the final drive...you will NOT have long term success.

VY - Won 8 of his first 10 nfl starts, Young went 5-5 the next year, got hurt and never started again in Tennessee. He is now the backup to one of the best QBs in the league.

Yep, you are right. Guys who are run first QBs have no chance to stay or win in the NFL.

Stewart only played a full season in 5 of those seasons. And in parts of 4 other seasons he had a total of 37 pass attempts. Just because he's been around for nearly 10 years doesn't mean he did anything worthy enough to stick around. He was a backup for the same amount of years as he was a starter.

As for Vince Young...he's a backup after having a full season's worth of starts for, what, 2-3 years? And I know you threw in that whole "he is now the backup to one of the best QBs in the league" to make it mean something but all it means is that he's still a backup because nobody wanted to have him as their starter. And with the bad group of quarterbacks in the league right now, that's probably even a worse insult.

These 2 guys have something in common, though. They were running QBs who had good first seasons until defenses caught on to their antics and then they started going downhill. And the difference between Stewart, who had 3 years between having another solid season, and Tebow is that Stewart wasn't nearly as bad of a passer that Tebow is.

Yeah, because Vince Young would be starting on...

    Dolphins
    Browns
    Jets (arguable)
    Chiefs
    Texans
    Jags
    Colts
    Redskins
    Bears
    Vikings
    Cards
    Rams (arguable)
    Seattle (arguable)

Thats why I said backing up to one of the best Qbs in the league

Man, Stewart really was trash.  O, he had a handful of good games, alright, but as a Pittsburgher I couldn't wait for him leave, nasty rumors and all.  When T-Max arrived, it was like a God send - until he almost got killed and was never the same again. The good thing was he saved us from the pergatory named Kordell Stewart.

And if Kyle Orton is such a good game manager...why did he lose his job?

Of course Le'Ron McClain doesn’t have a 100 yards this season he is a hell of a fullback. I would love to have him on my team. Thomas jones is a really good starting running back drafted 7th overall and has over 10,000+ yards rushing. Dexter mccluster is a monster playmaker, darren sproles type back, his speed and quickness make him the fastest player on the field when he has the ball in his hands. Jackie battle is a speedy bruising tailback, who has had a ton of injuries but can play in this league. When he touches the ball and gets productive yards, the chiefs usually win. Dwayne bowe is the chiefs number one target and broke the chiefs franchise record for most touchdowns in a single season and is a feared receiver to the opposing team. Steve breaston he averages 10 yards a catch and is a special team’s phenom, like devin hester, out of michigan. Leonard pope is an almost 7ft tall tight end and tebow wishes he had him at that position. The chiefs have the talent to be a good football team on offense and defense. The problems the chiefs have are with coaching and really poor quarterback play, there is a reason this team was in the wildcard round last year. The wrong team is favored this weekend. It should be the chiefs. Orton was happy to get out of denver with all the weapons he has on offense now compared to the god awful players on offense tebow has at his desposal. Tebow must have god on his side with his ability to turn shit into diamonds in his seven wins this season. Orton lost his job because denver doesn’t need a game manager/ back up serviceable quarterback right now, they need a star quarterback of the future.

The Chiefs should be favored on the road in Denver? Boy do I wish you were a linesmaker.

What side are you on anyway? Are you on the side that says Tebow is good? The side that says Tebow is bad? Or are you just a Chiefs fan?

Regardless...I don't care what you're saying because you're arguing about nothing right now since we both want the Chiefs to win. I hope you ARE right on everything you said and Orton manages to lead the Chiefs to a win.

If Tebow can make a career out of such a dismal QB rating then i will be the first to admit i was wrong about his skills. He is a below avg. QB in my eyes, who has one hell of a good attitude and work ethic. It remains to be seen if this will lead to long term success. One can only imagine how much the defense will grumble if next year the Broncos (with Tebow as QB) can't put more points on the scoreboard. I don't hate him, it just makes no sense that everyone is making him out to be some football messiah. Nobody ever talks about other great Christian players in the league- Does Drew Brees ring a bell? His faith is as strong as anyones but he only gets recognized for his greatness on the field. If and when Tebow becomes a good/great QB then we can sing his praises. Until then i hope Farve starts talking about coming out of retirement so we can have some other nonsense to waste our time arguing about.

Seems to me the majority of people who hate Tebow really hate all the devotees who think he is a great QB or that god has decided to take time out of his busy schedule  to decide football games LOL. But seriously  why would anyone actually hate Tebow?  Tebow. Not Tebow fans, not Christian conservatives, just Tebow.

Guy is always humble, works hard, always gives his teammates, GM, and everyone else credit. He ignores  smart a** comments from other teams players or them mimicking his prayer after a score. He is not the first to thank god after a score by a long shot.  Guy won in college ALL the time and he played in the SEC.  I don't see any negatives, why would anyone hate Tebow?

Tebow is almost a rookie (only a few starts last season, missed the most critical offseason of a player’s career, new coach, etc.) yet some people think he won’t improve even a little and this is the best he’ll ever be.

We are talking about a guy that had about 10,000 passing yards in college with a 66.4 completion percentage and 88 TDs, but there’s no way he will get better?

Tim Tebow career passer rating: 77.4

John Elway career passer rating: 79.9

While not exactly the same it’s pretty close.

Also Tebow’s rating is over 10 points higher than Elway’s was at this point.
