They're NOT overrated and probably don't get ENOUGH respect.

Yeah, 6 straight BCS championships for the same conference won by 4 different teams is definitely worth of all the praise, attention, and respect.

A whole lot of jealous haters though.

Now this is a very lame excuse right here. I mean if that's the case then i'm sure you are putting your house on the Houston ML wager because Colts will not win that game, or put all your savings in Pittsburgh because the Rams will not win that game too no matter what. I say just kill this thread already Sparky because you're running out of excuses.

    Then what is he!?!?!?!?!?

Rookie is a term for a person who is in his or her first year of play of their sport or has little or no professional experience. The term also has the more general meaning of anyone new to a profession, training or activity (e.g. rookie cop, rookie pilot, as a synonym for recruit), or occasionally to a freshman (especially in athletic teams).

Tebow technically is in his first year as a starting QB!
You guys said it yourselves, he suck, he can't throw, he don't play football, blah blah blah...

    dgnerate-

He is a second year QB- period. Doesn't matter that he didn't start the whole season last year. No way can anyone call him a rookie because that is not true. In the nfl, rookie means first year in the league, not the first year you play and get experiance

One thing i haven't seen anyone bring up yet(i haven't read every page of this thread either) is that if Tebow keeps playing badly for 3 quarters on a consistant basis and then picks it up in the fourth quarter- this will wear the team down mentally- the defense will get tired of always bailing out the offense- not scoring many points game in and game out wears a team down - yes brad johnson and trent dilfer won super bowls by just "managing" the team and not turning the ball over but they both had relatively short careers and nobody ever thought of either one of them as "great" qb's- Now Tebow may or may not improve- Given his work ethic i would think he will improve- how much is anyone's guess as he has always had such an unconventional throwning motion- I am not saying he sucks - but i get tired of hearing everyone seemingly kissing his ass and making him out to be the next great QB- He has started less than one full season so i think saying he sucks or saying how great he is, is pointless right now- Right now as a QB he is below average but his leadership skills and his competitiveness are above average- How this will play out in the longrun remains to be seen- something tells me that all that running around will lead to injuries sooner or later even though he is a big guy-

and when i say short careers, i mean short as starting qb's. Both hung around for a pretty long time as many quarterbacks who don't turn the ball over do. Even if Tebow doesn't improve too much but he doesn't turn the ball over then he could have a long nfl career. But that doesn't make a player "great"

Good points, and you're right that to make a statement right now is too soon. I love his winning attitude/charisma he seems to possess. One thing I think this team has definitely done (players and coaches) is bought into his never give up style and there is alot to be said about what chemistry can do for a team's performance. If you think you're beat then you're beat, but if you think you can win you never know what will happen if you keep pressing forward. I think he has made it a fun debate, which to me says, he must be doing something right.

peace blowoutgm...i fully understand that he is not a rookie anymore. you can say i'm an idiot but that's the only sensible thing to be or do in this particular thread. I will bet you a $1 that you won't post no more than ten comments here because i feel that you aren't the kind of Sparky or karkeith or me that like to play merry go round.

By giving all of John Skelton's bad stats and INT's it shows that it is possible for a really bad team to turn their season around and win almost every game (coming from behind in the 4th quarter of almost every game) with a bad QB.

Even with all the turnovers they still come from behind in the 4th quarter and win the game.

If it was Tim Tebow you would say you can not expect him to play that well he is only in his 2nd season and has started less then 12 game in the NFL.  He finds a way to win.  Also you would look at his last 2 games and say he is getting better.

I seriously doubt that considering that show ended years ago.

So 12 games make you a veteran? In spite of horrible coaching, pathetic receiver play, and inept offensive personnel, in the first 45 to 50 minutes of a game, tebow, some how is 7-2 as a starter in the national football league. Denver was 13-23, now they are 1st place and 7-2 under tebow, and going into the playoffs with 24 dropped passes this year. The broncos in tebow’s two losses, allowed 11 sacks, fumbled the ball 9 times, and the most over hyped defense, gave up 86 points.

I agree about the Denver defense being overhyped.  While they have improved they are still the 22nd ranked defense in the NFL this season and some people are acting like they are the 2000 Ravens.

nicely put punchout, all of broncos' win were credited to their Defense by the haters! Now they run out of excuses and came out with something like"It's ok, Colts will lose so they get Luck" I dare you Sparky to put your biggest bet on the Houston ML and post the ticket here.

That's not fair. Where do they rank since being healthy? Anyone who watches games knows how important they have been.

Or...maybe you ARE right...and we go back to the fact that the Broncos have faced such shitty offenses that it's not hard for Tebow to win these games.

And nobody is comparing them to the Ravens' 2000 defense. If they were that good...I'd be eating crow at season's end because he would win the Superbowl. Because THAT defense could make Brady, Rodgers and Brees look like Tebow throwing the ball.

Every defense faces injuries and few are ever healthy all season.  If you are going to amend the Broncos defensive stats to reflect only when they are healthy then you must do the same for all the other defenses as well.  In which case the Broncos would still probably be the 20th – 25th ranked defense.

It’s hard to call a defense good or even great when they aren’t even in the top half of the league.

And you are dead wrong about no one comparing them to the 2000 Ravens. On more than one occasion I’ve seen Tebow haters on this site do just that.

Of course I haven’t seen that since they gave up over 450 yards to the pats.

I have better things to do with my time than search through the 3,000+ posts made about Tim Tebow and/or the Broncos on this site to find a couple of posts.

But feel free to do so yourself.  Of course that’s assuming you can take a break from ranting about nonexistent football leagues and how “the Broncos won because Brady didn’t get another rushing TD.”

Your no different than a Tebow hater you have an excuse for everything! It makes me want Tebow to fail even more with guys like you! Tebow could lose 10 straight games and you would still have an excuse.

I don’t know how he could possibly find the strength to do so, but hopefully Tebow can find a way to continue living his life knowing that haters like you want him to fail.

    Godspeed, Tim.  Godspeed.

Of course you will not hear about it this week. Some people thought that this meant something last week.

I have responded about Skelton several times.

I actually do think he is an above average QB.

IT'S PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL PLAYED BY PROFESSIONAL ATHLETES!

Good teams lose. Bad teams lose. And both good and bad teams can win too! Good players have bad games.  Bad players have bad games and the same for both in having good games.

Here's my point...Aaron Rodgers and crew just lost to the Chiefs.  THE CHIEFS! While chasing an undefeated season.  Where is all the "Aaron Rodgers sucks!" talk? It's ok for Rodgers to have a bad game but not Tebow? Let Timmy T play a couple years and then let's evaluate his QB skills and success.

I'm sick of hearing people say, "Tebow has only beaten bad teams" or "He only beat the Bears because there was no Forte or Cutler."  IT'S TEBOW VS BEARS DEFENSE! NOT VERSUS CUTLER AND FORTE!

And if he has 7 wins against "bad teams"...then why aren't you going to some thread about those teams and putting them down? It's just sickening to see WEAK MINDED people let the media tell them how to feel.

Tebow is just another player in the NFL who is doing something pretty amazing to watch. Things like this have happened before. He has a lot of work to do with passing but if you're one of those IDIOTS who knows one phrase, "he sucks" then realize that that goes for a decent amount of other QB's in the leagues.  According to your narrow tunnel vision of hate, Gabbert, Sanchez, Ponder, Orton, Moore, McCoy, Skelton, Painter and more all suck.  If you agree, then go spend your time evenly hating them too. Not just Tebow

EXCELLENT POST! i HAVE SAID THE EXACT SAME THING SEVERAL TIMES IN THIS THREAD, BUT IN DIFFERENT WAYS!!!

The Pats win 41-23 and the lovers say, "Well, excuse excuse excuse."

Why would anyone say something bad about Rodgers? Yes...everyone loses...but he's proven that he can win and has the stats to back it up, as well as break records every week. It's not the fact that Tebow had a bad game and lost to the Patriots. It's that he has a bad game just about every game, yet everyone makes it out to be as if he demolished every team he's played from start to finish when that's FAR from the truth.

And yes...Tebow did face the Bears defense. And did you see how he played against them? He was absolutely terrible. And if Cutler and Forte were playing...he would be on a 2 game losing streak right now. He may not be going head to head against Cutler and Forte...but to say the outcome would have been the same with those 2 playing means you clearly didn't follow the Bears before their injuries.

You say the people putting Tebow down are "weak minded" by letting the "media tell them how to feel". I don't know what shows you're watching of late...but all the media has told ME is that Tebow is absolutely amazing. It was very nice this week to watch all the highlights in full...without having to hear how great Tebow is in between every one of them.

And you're right...all those other QB's suck too. But you know why I didn't make a thread about them? Because I didn't see 10+ threads talking about how great they were after they scored 1 TD in a game. Where ARE the Skelton threads talking about how much of a "winner" he is? I don't think he's good. I've watched his games too. Beanie Wells, the defense and Pattrick Peterson on special teams are carrying the Cardinals right now...not Skelton. He's just taking the snaps. I just pose the rhetorical questions of "why aren't you praising Skelton for winning" because I want to find the hypocrites around here.

And the reason why I didn't comment on your post originally is because, as you said, you read page 1 then skipped to page 64-65. What I told you right now I've said before (if not multiple times already). But since it's such a hot thread...I figured I'd respond.
