I hope you will reconsider ever betting on another over bet involving the Miami Heat.  They are where over bets go to die.

It's all the spread results so far. ATL and GSW are hot right now and SAS and CHA are making a resurgence. I only bet on ATL and GSW though because my bankroll is too small because I'm poor. I have to take as little risk as possible.

Pham, that spreadsheet is pretty awesome. Did you make that and do you update it or post it anywhere? Good stuff.

As far as this thread goes I will you the best of luck, buddy. I was down 13K and not only came back but finished up 7K for the year due to bowl games in football. Discipline is key although it might be too late for that. Best of luck!

I have a somewhat similar story. Gambling was in my family so I was the kid in 5th grade running pools in school. High school taking action etc etc.

So I was ahead of the curve by the time I was 21, but I was a brash wild gambler with my money. Didn't matter if I was 6-1 on an NFL Sunday, because I was the guy who put 100 on the 6 winners and my pick of year 4pm game was a 500 dollar bet. I chased all the time. Was an action junkie playing sports I wasn't good at. Etc etc

One week in 2001, I lost my mind and kept betting and betting and betting. I vaguely remember it started on MNF and the packers/Jax started the run. Don't remember the details, but I vaguely remember the packers up like 21-0 and 4th quarter they collapsed.

Anyway that set off a chain of events that led to me having something like 2k on the raptors -2.5 over the Bucks. Bucks up 20 whole game. Raptors make this furious run to take a lead under a minute. 4 point game Vince carter steals the ball with like 10 seconds. All alone on a breakaway and he tried a super, jump from the FT line, windmill super dunk instead of a layup, 6 point lead, and game over. Dunk attempt hit the back rim, popped 60 feet into the air, and into Glenn Robinsons hands who drained a 35 footer at the buzzer. Raptors win by 1.

Anyway that led to a football weekebd of wildness where at 10pm I was down a huge amount of money and I went double or nothing on a girls 1st west coast college game -.5 points. I was calling 1-800 TELL ME every 20 seconds for updates and watching ESPN ticker. My team was up 3 with 2 seconds. Kept calling. Kept calling. Then I see the tivker on ESPN go from 32-29 to 32-32 and halftime.

Long story short, I was dead and done. My dad had to bail me out. It took me 2 full years of paying him 50/100 a week to pay him back in full and that entire time I didn't make a bet.....but I kept these notebooks and I studied like a maniac. Every sport, every possible way of wagering, every system I could come up with. 2-3 years of it until I paid my debt, and then I dipped my toes into betting for real again. Took a couple years, but I figured out my sweet spot sports(NFL, MLB) and cut out sports I didn't have an edge on(all college, NBA).

Became disciplined, came up with bankrolls per season. Learned to keep a cigar box under my bed with my bank so I stopped falling into the "win 500 bucks, take my girl out, buy some DVDS and PS2 games, then lose 200 bucks the next week and instead of being up, I felt like I was down" cycle I always had.

Decade later, I won what I lost in 2001 10x over.

So hang in there man. Stay under control. Stay disciplined. Have a plan. And then chip away.

    Nice story.

I remember 1-800-Tell-Me! That line was torture. I had to leave the gf in restaurants and go into public bathrooms and I'm yelling "Basketball, Blazers" in a stall as people file in and out (all while the Tell Me guy thinks I said "Hockey, Blues" and starts reeling off NHL scores).

What's the max $$ you can wager on a game?  Not what your bankroll can support, but what is the most you can get down with your books?

Just curious, as it seems now you are starting to double down on games and getting into a hole.

    BOL............

You prepare yourself for any start to come, but that is one tough stretch, I'm not gonna lie. That was very painful. I'm not letting go though. This is all the way, and that scenario, though the last one I wished for - obviously, was one of the scenarios I prepared myself for. It's like me or god or whatever says  - You stopped parlaying? You stopped going crazy and betting every rabbit race every hour? Well let's see you go out of this 0-5 run. Let's see how tough you are. Let's see if you can stay in the lines like you promised yourself at nights. That is brutal. Going against GSW and taking Over @ a Heat game are obvious bad plays but I'm not regretting anything.

    This is only the beginning.

    I will make it.

bk1374 - No limit I guess. They really like my money, I can only guess they edge themselves if they don't like the bet I make. But they took 300k in 3 years, would you limit someone that lost that amount?

Yes, I 100% WOULD limit someone that consistently loses but has extremely deep pockets.  Otherwise you can just Martingale yourself back to even, or above.  That's why limits are in place in any casino.  Not to mention, only local book is likely only going to take action on what they can afford to absorb in losses.  They aren't going to gamble with their money and let one bettor take them for a huge loss.  Books don't gamble, that's why they are profitable.

I'm not gonna hit 100%, hell maybe not even 50%. I'm still gonna get every penny back, and if you want to fade me every night then you are welcome. That is my answer.

Also, not really sure what you mean by "I guess"??  Based on your statements, I assume you are using the same book now that you lost your $350k to. Obviously you were betting big then, and had limits (or KNEW FOR SURE if there weren't any).  So now you have this plan to get it all back, but aren't sure of the limits?  Not very well thought out if that is the case.

Good luck with your bets, but your story doesn't seem to add up.

You may want to limit yourself right now to Atlanta Hawks or another team on a run.  Last night the number was set low on Miami game for a reason.  Niether team could score and the under stayed well below the total.  Taking Houston after they got blownout at home against the leagues best team was ballsy.  I watched both games.  Golden State was up 30 a lot of the game.  Houston tried getting into Curry head pushing him around and technical fouls were issued.  It really just woke up Golden State and they opened up a can on Houston.  Bench was put in and allowed Houston to get back to respectable number.  GS hit a 3 up 10 when no defense was being played.......... Back to teams on a roll.  Atlanta is playing incredible right now.  OKC needs to win to get back into playoff hunt.  So either ATL run ends tonight or they keep on keeping on.....Either take them or go against them til the streak ends......Portland is playing without top scorer right now.  They are playing at home tonight...The number has went from 7.5 to 8.  I have been waiting for them to return home.  They can score without Aldridge just fine.  One thing I have noticed is that Portland gets off to slow starts.  Last night I played them plus 8 and again in second half and covered both.  You might consider watching first half and taking the team behind in 2nd half especially if they are playing at home.  Look at last night scores.  Pretty typical NBA night where teams come from way behind in 2nd half to make it a game.  I know a guy that turned 100 into 1200 betting 2nd half lines......If you dont have NBA ticket get it so you can be better informed on your plays.  Mak League Capper and a few others are worth checking out their threads for their opinions.......I am not trying to be a dickhead here.  Seriously take your pick that you think is the best play on the board that you are gonna double up on and take the other team.....Last night I checked your thread and could tell you were on tilt and played Golden State Warriors for my largest play this month.  If I would have seen your over pick on the Heat game I would have done the same on the under was thinking about both anyway but when I saw your post went opposite and won......I am not trying to be disrespectful or an fool man.  Just trying to win......Right now you need to clear your head and listen to some of the advice given.  I would love to see you turn things around....So far the plays you have picked have had a low % chance of cashing in....If you have deep pockets and enjoy losing keep doing what your doing and alter nothing....I would hate to see a thread that says I LOST 600K AND GONNA TURN IT AROUND.  No offense but right now your great fade material...I am guessing most of the guys asking for your plays are fading you at this point....If not they are donating hard earned money to the man......You can all hate on me all you want but you know I am speaking the truth here.

I've got a hand full of guys that you could talk to about all of this.  However, I am not sure how to reach them since they are basically homeless now because they "never gave up".
If you are really legit and throwing darts at a board, give it up or enjoy poverty.  It'll catch up to you eventually.  Down 350k and start making tremendously large bets...wait until you are down 700k and watch how big your bets get.  Better start doing some serious capping if you plan to stay in the game.
Best of luck either way but you need an intervention whether you're making 11k bets or it is really $100 bets.

Another thing to consider is when posting your picks give some reasoning behind what your playing.  Your playing way to much money to just throw darts or flip coins for picks.  Last night while watching the games I was wondering what it was you saw or were thinking about that made you risk money on your picks.  Sure any team can beat another team on any given night they are professionals.  If your gonna be a professional and make money at this you need to have solid reasoning to place a bet on an unknown outcome,  That way you can at least get some feedback from the forum and maybe even have a chance to get input that changes your mind and puts you on a winning pick..... I knew watching both games you had less than 5% chance of winning either one of them.  When I saw your Houston pick I wanted to tell you to go the other way....3 reasons I didnt.  Not enough time for me to post and you to change anyway.  2 you dont know me from Adam and would not have listened anyways and others would have probaly chastised me for saying something that didnt agree with your opinion......And most important reason is I had little time to make bet on Golden State and I played it like I knew the outcome of the game already.  It dont often happen but I knew somehow from my research and your pick that Houston was not going to cover the game.  I dont feel good making money on another mans misfortunes......Oddly enough I found myself hoping Houston would cover....I didnt have anywhere near what you did on the game......Kinda crazy when you think about it for someone to hope they dont win so another man can.....BOL to you man  I think most of us on here really would like to see you turn things around for yourself...Til then most on here will most likely continue to bet against your picks til you do though.....SORRY AGAIN I AM NOT HATING OR TRYING TO BE AN A HOLE....I am being brutally honest with you and rooting for you as well......If that gets me hater responses then so be it..I know those that hate on here are losers in life and gambling anyways instead of making me angry hating does the opposite to me.  It makes me feel bad for those that life has gotten them down so low and down and out that hating is what they are best at and known for on here.  Yall know who you are...

[WELL SAID CAP.. PICKING EVEN ONE GAME RIGHT FOR HIM RIGHT NOW SEEMS LIKE A STRETCH.  THE ONLY THING HOUSTON HAD ON THEIR SIDE WAS REVENGE...Howard fouled out and Smith quit on them pretty much acting injured and then cursing at official til he got thrown out.  Houston bench against GS BENCH got them back in game from being down 30.  Betting that much money if you lose first game at least wait until the next day when there are many options instead of 2.  I like to pick 2 games a day one early and one late in case the early one loses.  Bad day 0-2  good day 1-0.  Betting the amounts he is betting you need solid resources reasoning and information....If you have that you have a great chance of winning because you dont even make the bet.....Reasoning being the key factor]

Raider63 - No way in hell you're hating, I don't even know how can you think that. I appreciate all the time you put in your responses and the thoughts. I know I have to ride Atlanta or GSW but I hate to think that when I take them - they'll lose. Totally agree about OKC, I actually had a thought about them yesterday.

The reason I don't reason my picks is to avoid long discussions regarding what to pick. I lost too much TIME trying to "cap" games. I wanna get it all back, and I wanna live and enjoy movies, TV, action life, and everything else. I lost the will to enjoy anything. I know I'm on a bad roll in life in general, and it looks like I'm throwing darts. I have deep pockets, indeed, but as I said I'm no Bill Gates either.

The reason I do answer and developing a discussion is that I can't ignore good people trying to help. Already explained it earlier. It's OK I guess as part of curing and acting like a degenerate.

bk1374 - When I say "I guess" this means that I've never been blocked for a bet. I had larger sums than 11k that I know will pass, and they fit my plan. I am really sorry this story doesn't add up for you. Maybe I'm dreaming and tomorrow I'll find none of this ever happened and I'm in plus money.

It gives me a general idea of who to bet on. I rank teams based on who's winning the most in the last ten or twenty days and then I compare that with their record overall. If they're good in all categories it means they're consistent and I ride those teams until they lose two in a row.

For the year I'm only 56% but this past month I've hit 70%.
