allrite, for all the pea-brained idiots whining about the conference that lebron plays in,that he cant "foot it" with the scary "big dogs" out west....regular season per game career numbers versus east and west...580 games versus east,331 versus west.
i guess this clearly and comprehensively demonstrates that lebron is completely incapable of competing against the "BIG,BAD" west, rite???
i mean,he mite as well not even show up wen hes gotta go against a western conference foe.
truth of the matter is yes of course the west is better and obviously deeper year after year and has been for a number of years...but to besmirch a guys entire career based on the disparity??good lord, thats laughable.....its being waaaaay over-stated in here..every year there are 2 or 3 really elite, legitimate teams out west and the rest are flawed and fraudulent in terms of championship aspirations and wud not stand much chance of beating many lebron teams of the past 6 or so years so stop kidding yourself.
now just wait for the idiots that spewed this ridiculous argument to come in here stuttering and stammering with sum kind of excuse or qualifier...."but but but.....wat about in finals...but but but wat about on the road....but but but wat about in the past 3 seasons only...."
GTFOH with that tired stuff.

These are the dumbest threads of all time. Rg really dumb. Get this crap out of here. Who cares.
Obviously Kobe is better but in reality lebron is right behind him. So 2vs 3, 3 vs 4, 4 vs. 5??? Who really cares. Both will go down as greats.
why dont ya just fu.k off and not even read it then??you can clearly tell the gist of the thread by the self explanatory title....and then you go on to even offer your own opinion/comment
wat else do we do as human beings if not wile away the hours of the day talking crap about trivial, meaningless shiiit??

and try and stay on topic for crying out loud...not sure why jordan is brought into the debate...in most peoples opinions he is in a class of his own and has nothing to do with this argument...i dont believe rangerz ever made any mention of him at all.

Where's the GP category East vs. West?
The fact that LeBron makes every other player around him statistically better is huge....

One thing i love about kobe is that he has that killer instinct inthe 4th... Hits a lot of clutch shots and game winners. Lbj just doesnt have that in him and the funny part is ppl use to compare lebron and mj now that everyone knows they know they are not even close ppl start to compare lbj to kobe lol.

if youre hanging round with people that compared lebron to jordan then perhaps ya need to hang around with sumone else....i never heard anyone legitimately place lebron above or next to m.j....well,at least not anyone who's opinion was worth respecting.
also, remember to never, ever, ever let the facts get in the way of a good story now, will you??....kobes mythical ability in the "clutch" has been easily debunked for quite a few years now just by simply using the results,ya know the actual, factual, statistical results??...not sumones made-up perception fueled by hero worship or sweet memories...and lebron out-performs him in this regard also, despite the vitriol and hate thrown his way for shying away in big moments......im not sure why on earth ya wud admire sumone for having the "nuts" to take a well guarded, inefficient shot over making a higher % one or making the correct pass....but then the second options aint so great for marketing "superhero's" now,are they??

i can assure you that most rankings have kareem over wilt... but then again you probably read bleacher report or some mainstream garbage...
yup i guess you do know the sport more than me... already have lbj top 4 all time... guess you like to blow your load early. you probably couldn't find 5 other people on this planet that say lbj is top 4 all time as of today.
maybe you are a girl, and lbj let you suck his person or something... not sure, but there is something missing from your reasoning
Russell was a great defender, rebounder & shot blocker, but played with a team of perinnial allstars & wasn't as good as Chamberlain. Number of rings mean little in this discussion. Wilt did it all & bested Russell almost every time they faced each other. The Kobe/Lebron argument is old & tedious. Both are great all-time players but very different & hard to compare. Also very hard to compare different eras but if we're doing it, would say the 3 greatest, most dominant & valuable players in my lifetime have been Jordan, Chamberlain & Olajuwon. Hakeem won 2 titles with basically role players at the time (Drexler was on the far downside of his career) & tho the Rocks didn't get much credit w/o Jordan around, also did it all...scoring, boards, blocks, steals, etc & basically carried the Rockets to the playoffs almost every yr for 15+. Jordan's stats, feats, will to win speaks for itself.

The only thing Kobe Bryant is good at is acting like a total princess, and starting fights with his own teammates and proving its all about him and not about them! Unlike LeBron James, he called out the players who were under-achieving on his own team and made them into winners! What Kobe did, was make his players suck more because when he played, he proved that not only does his co-workers suck, but he totally super sucks himself too! He can't carry a team worth garbage!

well.. im not your casual fan... lbj is an all time great.. so is kobe. LBJ certainly can surpass kobe once its all said and done, but we have to wait and see... all of a sudden its an accomplishment to just make the finals for lebron.. how amazing... there's a reason he is 2/5... the west is better.. now i will give you that his first title appearance.. he had a terrible team..but thats how bad the east was... spurs smoked them.. and if phx had made it instead.. the result would be the same.. west was just way better.
kobe does have 5 rings.. but its not just about the rings.. kobe put up great numbers during those runs, and playoff appearance... all kobe haters care about is that he didnt win Finals MVP... go look at the numbers.. he played great, and came up big for the team numerous times when shaq was pulled late in games because of hack a shaq...
to say they aren't comparable is ignorant..
In the Finals 2000-2002 , Kobe and Shaq's 1st 3 titles, Shaq's was one of the most dominating forces in history , Kobe badly underperformed his regular season stats in the finals, while Shaq completely dominated his regular season stats on such a high level only Jordan might be equal to him.

False, Kobe is one of the worst clutch shooters, and sites have tracked this.
On last second shots he hits a horrendous 27% or such.
You remember the shots he makes from ESPN but forget all the shots he misses because Espn does not show those.

Ok let's have a real debate then. Where do Kobe and lebron rank ion the conversation of the greats? Are they both in the top 5? This is a trick question because one is and one isn't. Where so they sit among all the greats. Are they better than MJ, Russell, wilt, jabbar, magic, bird, Oscar, Duncan? I can't wait to hear this. And when you rank lebron, ask yourself if he could play in all the other eras. Ask yourself if he would have had what it took to beat those guys every year. The comparison between Kobe and lebron is way too easy. It's Kobe, he has 5 rings. Better defender, better CLOSER, better leader, the closest you get to MJ.

However, that doesn't keep me from marveling at athletes through the years.
I'm not going to tell you older players are better. You can make so many arguments. Travel, # of white boys playing, scheduling (read where this one team had to play FIVE B2B!), has the number of teams diluted the talent, etc. Hell, how about drinking water vs. Gatorade while we're at it?
But.......
Rings: Bill Russell-11
Before they even called it a triple double, Oscar Robertson AVERAGED A TRIPLE DOUBLE FOR A SEASON
Saw this just this morning: In what was known as the Western Division Finals in 1965, the Baltimore Bullets had a deadly outside shooter named Don Ohl. In a six-game series against West’s Lakers, Ohl averaged 28.8 points and never had an off night. Jerry West’s point totals: 49, 52, 44, 48, 43, 42, as the Lakers moved on. People would be going nuts if any player did this today!
Just remember: Before MJ started skywalking, there was a guy named Doctor J.
The game has surely changed with the three-pointer, you could have a separate argument just on THAT.
You can talk titles all you want, but they are a product of a team (see San Antonio Spurs)
Tell you what-I'll let you have Trent Dilfer, and I'll take Dan Marino.
Disclaimer: I'm friggin' old..........

a lot of those stats posted by olden-day players are a bit of a joke wen put in perspective...remember the game evolves at a fairly hectic pace and is pretty unrecognisable today from wat it once was...much of wat you mention was achieved in a league where 90% of the players were white, wore spectacles, and shorts that could easily pass as underwear, couldnt jump over a piece of paper, and shot 2-handed,girly set-shots/.........this may be a slight exaggeration but you get the picture.
natural evolution of human beings and in turn the game has meant that even the average nba athlete nowadays completely and utterly shiiits all over one from 30+ years ago....so i take many of those achievements with a grain of salt.now guys are bigger, faster, stronger, much more athletic overall and with the boom in popularity of the sport and the money to be made they devote a lot more time to practicing/improving skills.
the greats were great in their time and amongst their peers,no-one can take that away from them....but its ludicrous to try and compare to a modern generation
