The Tigers are streaking right now, but it was against teams that are a combined 53 games under .500. Bullpen start today, and I think losing Skubal and Mize now catches up to this team. They've been fortunate to play shitty offenses for the last 10 days, surrendering a mere 17 runs in their last 9 games, but SF, Seattle and the As don't provide much offense to begin with, so the feat has an asterik by it. The Guardians need to turn it around in a hurry, and Bibee is the a good candidate to do that. He's dominated the Tigers over his career, and his team needs him to be great today.
Cubs/Nationals Over 9 -110
First, these two offenses are 1 and 2 in runs scored/game in the entire league. Washington is second in MLB in OPS vs LHP, so that greatly helps with how good Imanaga has been as of late. But his line up will get their fair share against Irvin and this pen. Irvin hasn't made it through 6 IP all year, so the pen will get plenty of work and that is when things could really fly off the handles.
New York Yankees -1.5 +158
The Mariners offense has mustered a whopping 8 runs in their last 6 games. They stink. The Big Dump is batting .161. Its a disaster in Seattle, a year removed from one of the best seasons in franchise history. The Yanks are going with the lefty Weathers, and that spells more trouble for Seattles offense, as they are the second worst hitting team against LHP. The Yankees got some boost to their line up at the deadline and bringing up Lombard too.
Mets/Braves Over 8.5 -106
This will be the third time that this Mets line up gets to see Perez this year, and they've already got him for 8 runs in 14.2 IP. The Braves have seen McLean twice already as well, and had some success. The one match up that both of these pitchers started, was a 10-9 final. The Mets are starting to hit, and the Braves are a model of consistency when everyone is in the line up as they are tonight.
Brewers/Padres Over 7.5 -108
Since the break, the Friars have the 4th best OPS in all of baseball. Machado is finally hitting, Tatis is finally hitting and Merrill is on a tear. Kyle Harrison is having a career year, but these bats are too hot to contain right now. The Crew should be able to knock around Buehler themselves, and while yes, this is a large ballpark, the speed that Milwaukee has can turn a lot of doubles into triples, once those gaps open up.
