1-1 with a push last night, but the bigger one lost (Dodgers in an absolute freefall right now!)...On to tonight:
Washington F5 +140 1100/1540
Looks real sketchy I know right? But the price is too right. This is mostly a fade of Painter who has been abysmal and we gotta think that he's good to surrender at least a few runs to even the worst of lineups (which Washington has become all the sudden with trades and injuries). However Jake Irvin is an interesting cat. Very high ceiling, but VERY low floor. Seems like he is feast or famine, either blowing up or spinning a scoreless gem. He is volatile for sure, but I think one thing is for sure...he is better than Painter and his 7.00 ERA. Additionally, this line is treating Philly like some powerhouse that they most certainly are not. This is NOT a strong lineup tonight (or any night for that matter) oustide of Schwarbs, Harper, Arraez, and Marsh...and don't get me wrong those guys are dangerous especially the first two, but the rest of the guys in this lineup are just name brand names with very little production this year. Philly itself is a volatile team, they either feast of they famine. So basically I think one of two things happens tonight, we win this 3-0, or we lose this 7-3 through 5. Given that we are getting +140 with the better pitcher I'm willing to roll the dice here in a major way. Feel it in my bones. We are isolating this to a F5 bet because Wash bullpen blows obviously.
St. Louis F5 +130 700/910
That brings us to sketchy dog #2 on the night. I'm sorry, Will Warren is this big of a fave? Despite adding Garcia Jr. (who is a legit value add) and bringing up Lombard, who else scares you in this lineup besides Rice?? Pallante has quietly compiled a very solid season. St. Louis lineup isn't much better...but hot take i DO think it is just that, slightly better. So gladly taking this sketchy dog at +130. F5 only though, for same reason.
We are going into the lions den, but I think the Yanks and Phillies are more paper tigers than Kings of the jungle. Don't think either of them are making noise in the playoffs this year, and we're taking two flyers on mediocre teams tonight. This could go really well...or we will be digging out again after tonight!
Suerte (even you @Robards)

Lose a tough one with Washington 2-1. Painter had traffic in every inning, and was due to face the top of the order for Washington for a third time (including CJ Abrams), but the gambling gods intervene and he gets removed from a hammy in favor of one of the more nasty lefty relievers in the game. Gotta wonder what coulda been...
And we owe a bundt cake to Wetherholf who came through in the clutch in a 0-0 game in the 5th with two outs to SAVE OUR ASS. Pallante is HIM.
The reads were were good, had a chance to have a monster night on two dogs, and just came up short 1-1 for -$190 on the night.
