Yep, the bad weather is not enough to derail Queen Booty today. The Queen knows Amelie ain't worth a damn anymore, so she's playing smart today......just put the ball in play with the bad weather.....no need to try to tag lines.
Mauresmo just flat out doesn't have any power. Her days are over. I look for her to hang it up after this year.......not good for a former top player to stay in the game ranked at 60th. And 60th is being generous.
Watching her today is painful when you realize 2 years ago she was a force.

Let me put it this way, I would prefer looking at Sharapova, Vaidisova and Ivanoovic than looking at Ben Bernanke or recent market performance!!! LMAO...but that is just me.
SKF and well the usual suspects for me

They also ran CPST, but that looks totally tired right now.
CPST has had a great run and has held on. Personally feel that HYGS is in a better space and will be worth more, thought CPST mkt cap right now is 5X higher. HYGS has loads of room to run. Just have a real strong feeling it's going to fly to $3-4 real soon. We shall see.

There has got to be some good companies just getting unnecessarily beaten up out there. Gotta be getting close to value hunting time? Gimme some names.

value guys are buying financials b/c they are "cheap" on a historical basis
had a discussion with a colleague this morning about all of this. we agreed that most of the financials are big fat zeros
think of it this way...MER owns a big piece of BLK and Bloomberg...those are its assets...now they are highly leveraged against those assets with bad debt. what is the value of their assets with significant leins against them?
if you knew or they knew, one could properly value the company...no one knows, hence its a zero...they all are
you can start shorting euro banks next..DB, UBS. they are headed for recession and trichet wants to raise rates

If you have a longer horizon there are some interesting bargains out there.
Depending on the risk profile you could take a stab at some real stinkers in the short term that could work out in the long term..
GE GM C BAC LEH LCC PFE VLO FTO
You could also buy the KBE and get a near 7% yield. I do think that yield ends up going lower as some banks slash the dividend but if you wanted a basket of banks and not own the shares directly the KBE looks like the one to buy.

if you're looking for "value" stay away from anything involved in lending money or anyone who's business is dependent on lending money... homes, construction, cars, auto parts, department stores.
the risk appetite is minimal at best
RDC is interesting...drilling company that owns a steel mill, poss spinoff of the steel assets

GE - money lender (ge finance) GM - no way (unions + $4 gas) C - at $5 BAC - not bad but the CFC buy was an awful mistake LEH - no way...levered 25x LCC - fuel PFE - no drugs in the pipeline...can only grow through M&A and no one will finance that VLO - hate that the CFO was dumping shares (usually the smartest guy at the company) FTO - dont know enough about them

sorry to poo poo...too much uncertainty with all of those names...also, is your threshold 5-10 years or 6-12 months?
