If you bother to read i have already answered this queston.

Something cannot come from nothing in this realm, natural world we live in. If it can, i would like you to prove it. actually, if you can prove it, i doubt you will be sitting here on a website, you would be on your luxury yacht in the bahamas with 1/2 dozen of the best looking girls in the world enjoying yourself as you would arguably be the richest man on the universe..

The fact is, something cant come from nothing in this world / universe we live in.

When you talk about God, are we talking about God where his realm in this world? if God's realm was in this universe, then yes, your question is valid.

But his realm isnt in this universe, his realm is in the supernatural world. As i have stated, what are the properties of the supernatural world? Are you stating that the properties of the supernatural are the same of this world?

Therefore the question is a logical fallacy in itself.

    Cant you understand?

Even the point of singularity has matter in it, and space must have existed for the point of singularity to exist. Furthermore, for the explosion to occur from the point of singulaity, time must have existed, otherwise no eplosion is possible without time.

With the proof now in place, cosmologists can no longer hide behind the possibility of a past-eternal universe. There is no escape: they have to face the problem of a cosmic beginning."

YES ROSTOS YES. WE HAVE THE PROBLEM OF THE COSMIC BEGINNING. Do you know the answer? I do. Here it is: I DON'T KNOW. NO ONE KNOWS. No one knows for a fact how the universe began. I have my hypothesis. Scientists have their hypotheses, but ultimately, no one knows. However, I will not hypothesize that there is another "realm" beyond this one. It's hard to enough to try and prove the existence of a god, you wanna prove the existence of a god AND AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT WORLD? Why are you making it even harder on yourself? There is absolutely NO EVIDENCE WHATSOEVER that any "realms" exist beyond this one. At least there are "slivers of evidence" that may indicate a deity, but there is absolutely nothing pointing to another realm.

And even if I play along with your fantasy world, where'd that realm come from. No matter what either side says, no one can stop the problem of infinite regress. Your argument fails fundamentally.

    Rostos -

So if we all have faith, and we all agree something cannot come from nothing - why is it that YOUR GOD is the RIGHT god?

Why not Zeus?  Why not the Hindu god?  Why not one of the thousands of other gods throughout history?  Why is YOUR god the one and only god we should worship?

Clearly you are not going to think critically about whether or not there is a god, but I would like to hear your thoughts as to why your god should be more convincing to me than any other god.

So if we all have faith, and we all agree something cannot come from nothing - why is it that YOUR GOD is the RIGHT god?

It's funny how Rostos' arguments are so fundamentally flawed, we can't even progress to the discussion of why one god is more probable than any other.

After 27 pages in this thread, and about the same in the other - I am convinced that there is no debating with him.  You have to concede his points, in order to move on to something else with the hopes of him not stating a hocus pocus theory.  I keep trying to go to new ground just to get to something debatable - because there is no debate with him so far - he is illogical and misinformed factually - which is a bad combination for an online debate.

First of all, Zeus has been debunked by historical scholars. So we can rule him out.

Only in Christianity are there accurately filled propheciesof a coming Messiah (Jesus), Only in Christianity do we have the extremely accurate transmissiom of the eye witness documents (gospels) so we can trust what was originally written. Only in Chroistianity do we have the person of Christ who claimed to be God and performed many miracles to prove his claim of divinity, who died and rose from the dead, and who said he alone was the way, the truth and the life. All this adds to the legitimacy of Christianity above all religions - all based on the person Jesus.

IEither Jesus is true and all other religions are false, or other religions are true and Jesus is false. There are no other options. I choose to follow the risen Lord Jesus.

Jesus did NOT rise from the dead. That is impossible. If you believe that, you are LOST.

And how do you KNOW this?

First of all you contradict yourself when talking about the origins of the universe, when you realise this, you say you dont know. Yet, you DONT know for a fact Jesus didnt rise from the dead as a FACT yet you state that he didnt rise.

Secondly, if he didnt rise from the dead, how do you explain the absolute explosion of churches and christianity after the time frame of his resurection?

Do you know for a FACT that Harry Potter isn't real? Can you answer with 100% certainty that Harry Potter is not real and the world of wizardry doesn't exist?

Yes, has anyone (past or present) claimed to have seen him?

So, that's the standard? All I have to do is claim to have seen Harry Potter and there's reason to believe he may real? When I was little, I think I saw the Lochness Monster. He must be real. Prove me wrong? Oh that's right, you can't. I can say ANYTHING and you can't prove me wrong. You can't argue like that. In the history of the world, NO ONE AS EVER RISEN FROM THE DEAD (don't get me on a technicality where doctors have revived people after a few hours, I'm talking days here). Therefore, until I hear about someone rising from the dead, the evidence overwhelmingly supports the fact that Jesus did not. You have absolutely no evidence (because all your evidence is the bible, which can't be used, because it's validity is just as much in doubt).

No way should this have taken 27 pages. Not that I can give answers to tuff ?, but this originally intrigued me to a degree, altho I did skim thru quite a bit of it, as it was losing my interest , but was still curious to see if any head way was going to be made. I have a diff. take than what has been brought up so far, so felt inclinded to give some response. Take it for what you feel its worth., good or bad, its just how I see it and I also will add that I feel everyone is entitled to an opinion, be it right or wrong. This kind of discussion will bring it all about.---  First off I 'm a big believer in math, probablities and outcome, the reason why I'm even on this site.  As far as time goes which seems to be a small part of this, I feel that there are 2 major thoughts. Either the followers of Newton or Kant. I fall in line with Kant. According to the King James version that I read, I don't see anywhere that the earth is only 6K -10K years old.  It is not possible to determine exactly how old the earth is but very few will say 6K to 10K as it has to be over 90% that will say much longer ( I am in the 90%) The Supreme Creator certainly took his time in creating everything including the predecessors to man, the hominids which preceeded Adam & Eve. ---- Cro - Magnon man was created anatomically to modern man and exhibited all of the same behaviors including a spriitual dimension. ( which I find interesting ) There is no scientific proof to indicate that hominids descended from man. Recent DNA studies cast a dark shadow on any connection between hominids and man. The genetic blueprint of modern woman, the mitochondrial DNA & the Y-chromosomsal DNA of modern man traces back to a single male and a single female. This alone gives some credence to Genesis in the beginning of humanity rising from 1 man & 1 woman. It also negates the claim of evolutionary connections between modern man with Neanderthals & ancient hominids.  --- Many lessons even from the Old Testament can be related to todays times, particularly among the main characters in these stories such as David, Samuel, Joseph. I could go on longer but it is not necessary at this time, but they are worth reading about.  The best is really in the N.T., you must be able to go beyond the O.T. first of all , so don't get hung up. It is highly improbable that the Bible and all the stories of Jesus would have survived all these years unless there was a basis of truth. A very large percentage of believers have existed for a very long time and generally they have good reason., yet some may not be able to convey that ( not really sure I can either for that matter) What I have gotten from the Bible is that is primarily based on love. I do not see an angry, vengeful or demanding God, but just one of love. I have a paper that I've written about reality, --in short: you either acknowledge it or the laws of reality will automatically work against you. People create their own realities,  some believe it's different from 1 person to the next, but this personal reality can be deceitful as the true reality governs all. Every person must be able to base their lives on a reality they perceive in their minds. You just need to ask yourself if your reality is true .There are a lot of people in this world that will never be able to admit they live by a false reality, & may never come to comprehend the true reality. Most create their reality based on their 5 senses & all their personal experiences based on them. ... I digress .... let's start with the definition of condemnation " to express strong disaproval of; to pronounce judgement against." --this is a word that most use when thinking of an eternity in hell, but not so as that is not what the word means. Everything was  planned way in advance. Adam & Eve, the forbidden fruit, Lucifer , all  pieces of a giant puzzle including Jesus. Anyone that looks at 1 Timothy 2:4 will see that .. "who will have all men saved, and come into the knowledge of the truth." ---Christ will baptize with fire, as John indicated. ---everyone will be subjected to the Lake of Fire. The believers walk into the Lake holding the hand of the Lord with no pain, the unbelievers are thrown in kicking & screaming . This Lake of Fire will burn out any impurities in the heart, soul & mind of man. This iis identical to what he did to the Apostle Paul ( the worst of all sinners of all time) --all of this comes about after resurrection, for once dead we all lay in the ground to the end of time, which may be a very long time, so don't rush off  just yet.  Part of this grand puzzle is also that it is important for us on earth to experience good & evil not just an understanding. Lastly when Jesus was crucified, ( He was never known for public prayer & generally against it, however .) note that while on the cross, Jesus cried out ..Father forgive them for they know not what they do. (Surely as I see it a prayer for all to be forgiven)  as it was stated that those in the crowd that demanded his crucifixtion also claimed that his blood would be on them & their children. For whoever the Father forgives, certainly will not burn for an eternity. Regradless 1 verse alone cannot stand as it takes many together to corroborate a line of thinking. ( I have others but keepin it short) You must also understand that the universe is set up with some unchanging laws, these prevent God from stepping in and changing circumstances for us. Good as well as bad can happen to all. These are allowed to happen. Make the most of what you have, some have it better off, some may be better off ignorant of the fact that they don't have it so well. ---- Believers will be resurrected first and be here while Christ rules for a 1000 years after Satan is imprisoned. The others will be in the 2nd resurrection. The pain of the Lake of Fire will depend on how impure you are. This you bring upon yourself, as he will judge fairly. I know this doesn't answer too many questions and probably brings up more (but,  I sure hope not ) .. I will add that every one is entitled to Soul Freedom to make their own choices & Bible Freedom whereas everyone has the freedom to interpret for themselves & Religious Freedom to practive how they see fit or not to practice at all. You choose, & choose wisely.  in the immortal words of the creator of Spiderman, Stan Lee ' NUFF SAID'  --- enjoy & take of this what you will as I've spent a majority of the night on it & am gonna let it rest. Good luck in choices !  TC

    The Book of 1 Kings

The author is uncertain; some have suggested Jeremiah or a group of prophets, the date written is uncertain, possibly shortly after King Jehoiachin's release in 562 B.C.

Effective leadership often has more to do with character than with accomplishments. At least that seems to be the case in the book of 1 Kings. The books 1 and 2 Kings form one book in the Hebrew Bible, covering the period when kings ruled Israel after David's reign. First Kings opens with the death of David, followed by the reign of Solomon and the building of the Temple in Jerusalem. The book then records Solomon's death and the division of the kingdom into northern and southern halves (Israel and Judah). This division resulted from a foolish decision by Solomon's heir, Rehoboam. Despite wise advice from his older advisers, Rehoboam chose to follow a policy of harsh rule, and the northern tribes rebelled. First Kings then begins a chronicle of each king who ruled Israel or Judah, giving him a rating of either good or bad, depending on his faithfulness to God and the covenant. The book closes with a great conflict between Elijah the prohet and Ahab, king of Israel.

    - Do you realize how narrow-minded this is?  In fact, to confirm your belief, you should be trying to disprove your beliefs because if you try and disprove your beliefs and you fail, that confirms your beliefs as correct.  This is BY FAR the most ignorant statement you've made.

How do you know I haven't tried to disprove my beliefs in the past and that I just couldn't disprove my belief which led me to believe my beliefs are correct?

What we have here from you are assumptions and opinions.

The definition of assumption is defined as: to take for granted; suppose (something) to be fact.

The definition of opinion is defined as: a belief not based on absolute certainty or positive knowledge but on what seems true, valid or probable to one's own mind: judgment.

So I can honestly say your assumptions and opinions are false.

    Why Were You BORN?

Is there PURPOSE for human life? Does life, after all, have real meaning? Here is the awesome truth!

Part 4 of 23. YOU Are NOT an Animal

Now notice, in verse 21 of Genesis 1: "And God created great whaes...after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind..." Then in verse 25: "And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind..." And then verse 26: "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness..." (Authorized Version throughout unless otherwise specified).

This says plainly God made whales after the whale kind, birds after the bird kind, cattle after the cattle kind---but God made man after the GOD kind! And notice, Elohim did not say, "Let me make man after my kind," but, "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness." It is the spokeman of the God kingdowm who is speaking. (But let me explain here, that beginning with verse 4 in the second chapter of Genesis, a new and different name for God is introduced. In the Hebrew it is YHWH Elohim. In the Authorized or King James Version, the Hebrew YHWH is translated "Lord"---always in capital letters. So in Genesis 2:4 it is there translated "Lord God."

The Moffatt translation renders it "the Eternal." Actually, this is the name, used in the Hebrew, for the same Person in the God family who appears as Logos in the Greek of the New Testament (John 1:1-3), and is translated "the Word." YHWH or Yahweh, is the One of the God family who is the Spokesman, by whom God (the Father of the God family) created all things. It is the One who came in human flesh, Jesus Christ.

This reveals clearly, beyond dispute, that man is not an animal! Man was made in the image and likeness of God---in the very form and shape of God. Man was made to have relation to God---a link to God---totally unlike any animal. That will become more apparent as we proceed.

But why did God make man in his own image? Why did he created the human species at all? Was there special purpose? Is there a meaning to human life, unrealized by mankind? Man, it seems, fails to understand that purpose.

Now look about you. Look at all the species and forms of living creatures. How many of those are able to think, plan, devise, and then bring about, by making or creating, that which was though out, designed and planned?

Oh I don't mind. You believe in an imaginary man in the sky. I promise, I'll have the last laugh. And he who laughs last, laughs hardest.
