this was one week of winnings, i slowed down after this week cause i didnt think he could pay even though he told me it wasnt a problem

I wouldve stopped betting with him at any time but he insisted it was ok to conitnue

There is always the IRS but that would put the feds on you and his customers.

What does he drive?  Maybe you can get his ride.

Your gonna have to demand something in a couple of weeks cause my feel is the dude isn't going to do anything to make up ground with you.  Once he strings you out much longer, he's gonna assume he can keep it going ad nausium.

Think of something he has that you want and let him know you are serious, otherwise he's gonna assume you are "letting it go"

Your greed broke his bank it appears. I just don't understand how you guys operate, I mean when you make a bet and win you should go get your money before you make another bet and if you lose you should pay the guy before you make another bet.

You guys let it roll until it gets way out of hand and when it comes time to collect or pay up none of yous got the money.

Just don't place any new bets with this local and see if he will honor what he owes you, maybe you can work something out. Hopefully he will eventually pay you off.

That was very good advice by Goose. I think your only chance to get paid is to give this guy some breathing room and then sit down and work out some kind of payment plan with him. He obviously doesn't have 34 grand under his pillow and even if he did, he probably owes other people as well.

You never should have let the figure get anywhere near that amount. That goes for the bookie and the customer. When it gets that high one way or another, usually something like this happens. You're obviously a pretty big player so you guys should have had a cap figure already worked out.

Call the police.

 

i doubt the police would do anything against a victimliess crime if I call them and say hey I know a local bookie.  I have a few friends that are cops, not detectives, just works in the county jail.  I will ask them if there are any action.  Do you guys know anyone who has done that and busted a bookie successfully?

Well, no word this week from my bookie either, I haven't contacted him about it either though.  I agree with those of you who say that I should not have let it get this far.  We were friends and I kept telling him when I was up around 20k that if he needed me to stop betting that I would, but he kept saying that because we have a window it will balance out.  The window being i'm up down over 2 I pay, if I am up over 5, they pay.  Well they went over the window, and there have been some things I have heard that have led me to believe that either they got hammered or something serious happened, but I still know that he is taking bets, there fore I will still expect payment.  So, I shouldn't let it get this far yes, he was my friend, he told me its ok don't worry etc... so i kept betting, how was I supposed to know that he was not going to pay?  If it were just a local guy I didnt know, then yes I would have stopped betting.  Its 34k, its alot of money yes, but it wont be the end of the world if I never get it because I just got lucky in making that money, I am no professional capper or anything, but out of principle friends or no friends, there has to be justice served, social justice that will send messages to other bookies that if you can't pay, don't take bets.  So other bookies might hear about the bookie that didn't pay and what happened to them.... the problem is people mistake kindness for weakness and thats when things just go downhillll
