How can the bible have the inconsistency of having a commandment of "thou shall not kill" and then have dozens of bible versus outlining when to kill?

I want an answer to this.  God wrote the damn book, how can inconsistencies be there?  Is it ok to kill, or is it a commandment not to?

I may be way off but to my understanding the Bible was written by man at the direction of God.  So for all the inconsistencies and contradictions you may find in the Bible, it may have been placed their to further test your faith maybe?

How about taking a swipe at the quotes I posted, or the issue above about killing?

no one worships science?

i read people all the time that say that religious folks are idiots, and that they are the barrier keeping the smart people from using science to solve all their problems. i feel like you are being a tad dishonest.  Science in it's present form is a faith based entity. People have faith in man made metrics used for problem solving, and believe that they will find answers and certainty as a result.

I didn't read this thread, but i would imagine more then once, someone attempted to use science to debunk the christian bible,,,,
