ClubDirt - a christian who seeks a role of leadership should not overlook their own community, in that the church which has put the faith into damage control, requires immediate reform. with ministries + individuals that purposefully suppress the truth + present fallacious information, with this kind of behavior extremely evil + antithetical to biblical christianity.
though, a christian involved in the political process must have greater communication + people management skills than their collegues, for the issues that have a distinct divide from christianity. one issue being, homosexuality.
the bible proclaims that homosexual offenders will not inherit the kingdom of god. for god does not create a person with homosexual desires. the bible tells us that people become homosexuals because of sin + ultimately because of their own choice. a person may be born with a greater susceptibility to homosexuality, just as some people are born with a tendency to violence and other sins. though, that does not excuse the person’s choosing to sin by giving in to sinful desires. if a person is born with a greater susceptibility to anger/rage, that does not make it right for him to give into those desires. the same is true with homosexuality in the word of god.
so, how does a christian leader deal with the conflict of representing a homosexual?
the bible does not describe homosexuality as a “greater” sin than any other. the bible states that he that said, do not commit adultery, said also, do not kill. now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.
the instructions of jesus were that god makes his sun to rise on the evil + on the good, and sends rain on the just + the unjust. so, a christian should not hold judgment, otherwise they themselves become a transgressor of the law. the christian-politician by right of god is to protect, feed + be gentle toward this group of the community, + leave judgement for god.
christians seem to like to tell other people how to behave + act as if they never do anything wrong. they also tend to focus only upon a few moral issues - namely abortion + gay marriage - seemingly to the exclusion of more important issues, such as justice + care for the poor. is this the kind of behavior the bible commends or are these people acting against what biblical christianity actually stands for?
if there is anything that is antithetical to christianity, it is a person who thinks that they can be righteous by their own good works. the bible says that all people are sinners + that none can meet god's standard for righteousness. since righteousness is not from what we do, but the result of what god has done for us, the christian should never act morally superior to other people.
saying one is a christian, does not make them a christian. they usually are the ones that become public identities in the political arena or televangelists. though, christianity is to big of a market niche to be ignored, so it will always be exploited.
the jewish faith survived under egyptian, babylonian + roman rule, and so can christianity be served under the liberties of the u.s' without having representation in the countries domestic or international affairs outside of voting.
as for evolution, nothing has yet to stand up under the close scrutiny of an in depth scientific evaluation. and yet, curiously, evolutionary thought prevails in the mainstream. thus, evolutionary scientists have disposed of true science, + replaced it with philosophy + imagination. evolution has become in a sense a scientific religion.
an example of intelligent design is the dna' molecule. anyone who investigates see's it is an incredible micro, digital, error-correcting, redundant, self duplicating, information storage + retrieval system, with its own inherent language convention, that has the potential to develop any organism from raw biological material which screams that life is the result of i.d'.
evolution states that matter + energy + random chance = incredibly complex life.
creation states that matter + energy + information = incredibly complex life.
the formula of intelligent design in the latter is supported by dna discoveries which does not support the formula of evolution. so a designer per say needs to be included in the conversation of life.
as i agree with you dirt, that a position in government is not access to a microphone to be a spokesman for god, or the voice for any other personal belief. i liken the same to public teaching, that a student should be educated in the realms of science such as biochemistry + allowed to reach their own conclusion towards the origin of life.
if one finds reason to believe in intelligent design, then they can take the initiative to link that designer with the christian god head themselves. and for those not excepting of a grand designer, they will be rewarded with a greater understanding in the field of science to build more educated based theories on their observation.
and to be a "human" maybe like the animal species whose only goal was to replicate. I know treating others kindly is crazy and your only goal as a species that has evolved was to create more offspring...Imagine that a species existed only so it could create a stronger species....HMMMM I guess Darwin's survival of the fittest means nothing to this concept
