That is fine and you can think what you want about anyone or their opinions but you clearly make the atheists look so bad. I feel bad that Van has people like you on his side. I'm sure they are really proud!

The imformation in the book seems to be kind,so if self-improvement is the way to go , what is the matter with incorporating belief into one's character and if the word of God is truth , the unbeliever is lacking in character .

Bottom line is this. All the atheists that are on this thread are being pulled by something.  They come on here to bash Christians but they really are being pulled by something they can't explain.

I don't believe in Bigfoot. I just don't believe in it. The last thing I would ever do is go on a Bigfoot forum and bash believers.

If atheists really felt that God didn't exist, really felt that in their hearts, they wouldn't be on this forum. Bottom line. They wouldn't be in this thread.

who are you calling out as atheists?

or is that just how your prescribed talking points are supposed to work when challenged

Why aren't there endless writings of people saying the Bible is a hoax. If someone said Harry Potter was real there would be millions saying "no it's not" and that would be passed down.

3500 scientists voted one man to head up the Human Genome project. He was agnostic. After getting further than anyone in history into our genetic code he discovered holes everywhere in all these "scientific findings". He is a Christian now.

God lives in all of us. If you choose to not follow him and not believe in him than you are a lost soul.

Jesus died for all of our sins. All you can do as a Christian is pray for everyone.

    God loves!

But if it was a discussion on a gambling forum, you might throw in your 2 cents.  If Bigfoot exists, you would have thought he would have been found by now.  No one can "find" God.  It's not the same type of discussion at ALL.  One involves the concept of everlasting life.....the other involves a supposedly tall, furry figure.  Not even close to the same.

Yeah bro, the Christians never killed anyone who denied their god existed.  At no time in history did this ever happen.  In fact, neither the bible or the qur'an mention how it is the duty of their adherents to persecute those who "deny god".

Also, this post contains no sarcasm.

maybe you know theres a slim chance that bigfoot actually exists so wudnt wanna speak out of turn without being positive as,even tho you think it extremely unlikely, you may think its not totally out of the realms of possibility.......with sumthing as ludicrous as religion its very difficult not to ask the question of believers...to seek them out and try and smash sum sense into their heads or get sum understanding of this peculiar belief system based on zero evidence watsoever.
and besides, its not exactly apples and oranges is it??i mean one shud be a little easier to prove than the other..there is supposedly only one single bigfoot on the entire planet, hes only 8 foot tall or watever and likes hanging out in the forest and acting all mysterious-like......this "god" character is meant to be a pretty big deal,is kind of everywhere,a paragon of virtue and perfection leading/guiding all of humanity thru life forevermore..ya kinda think that he wud show himself in sum tangible way at sum point in time,rite??.....anyone??.......anyone seen this fu.ken dude??

If the brain/mind is the result of an UNGUIDED, blind process that evolved for survival and NOT TRUTHS, then how can you use it to make truth claims?

Natural selection selects for survival traits, NOT truths. Therefore the Atheist is using the tool (brain) to make truth claims (God and the universe) but the very tool they are using (brain) didn't evolve to make truth claims.

In essence, it is like using a speedometer to measure water pressure.

So what are you saying?  To me you seem to be saying that humans by essence (as "unguided" by natural selection) are incapable of making a legitimate truth claim of any sort.

wat hes ACTUALLY doing is trying to take a perfectly reasonable question-"have you seen any tangible, logical concrete evidence to support the existence of an ultimate creator"....and turn it into a pedantic debate over semantics, definitions of words and differing philosophies...this is wat religious people do wen they cant answer the most simple of questions........."oh,but wat do we "know"??do we really "know" anything??"......."wat is "thought" and wat is "truth"??is there really any "truth" at all??"....GTFOH  with that trash...just accept that weve invented a language and accept the commonly held definitions of the words of that language as we know them, and give us sum kind of answer.

we all know wat the commonly held definition of truth and evidence/proof is and its simple enuff to work within those parameters for the purpose of a particular discussion....but not this fu.ken guy

How can you make truth claims? The very tool you are using (brain) evolved via natural selection for SURVIVAL and NOT truths about the world and universe.

You cant use examples of survival to validate that the brain can make truth claims simply because we can see survival through false beliefs.

Take a tribe for example who believe that lions contain evil spirits. As they contain evil spirits, they should be avoided.

This is an example of a false belief that has enhanced survival of the species.

Therefore, essentially, the Atheist making truth claims about the world/universe is like someone using a speedometer to measure water pressure.

    Hahaha!

I will definitely be one of these "atheists or science people" you are talking about, except I won't be able to stop from laughing at the absurdity upon uttering the "Please God Help Me" words!

For most of us atheists it seems quite childish and comical to be beckoning the sky/heavens for some divine intervention.  To me it is simply absurd, and it would be an affront to my common sense and nature to suddenly try to track down some god in hope for solace in hard times.  Trust me brother, it's not going to happen unless actual evidence were to come along to support the idea that god exists.

I'm pleased that God is working out for you and millions of other people -- so long as we're not bothering anybody, "Whatever Works!" is my personal philosophy.
