IM SORRY, BUT I GOTTA TAKE IOWA +5.5
MAY WIN STRAIGHT UP
Most likely going to tease
Iowa +11.5 and the Under 57
Going large, had Boise last night!
Great pick, was thinking the same thing. GL.

If Iowa stops the option early Tech will have nowhere to turn. I like their chances. Iowa definitely loves the role as a dog and this team is scrappy
BOL especially Hawkeye backers

G.T. - 5.5!!! Georgia Tech averages 442.7 yards with 307.2 of them coming on the ground, good for second in the nation. Iowa gives up 286.7 total yards per game, 122.0 rushing.Dwyer ran for 1,346 yards and 14 touchdowns while Nesbitt rushed for 991 and 18 scores for the Yellow Jackets, second in the FBS with 46 rushing TDs. Nesbitt has attempted just 11.8 passes per game while throwing 10 touchdowns and four interceptions.
Iowa's QB Ricky Stanzi's numbers aren't eye-popping, as he's thrown 15 touchdowns and 14 interceptions, and Iowa is 93rd in the nation in total offense with 330.8 yards per game.
Georgia Tech wins this game by atleast 13.

even though a month is plenty of time to prepare for the triple option, i'm going to still roll with GT. This bowl season has shown how difficult it is for teams to defend it. LSU did well last year but majority of the times, teams struggle.
Folks talk about how Georgia stopped them...well GT still put up 200 yards rushing and 24 points in a tough rival game.
I don't think much of the turnover prone Stanzi and I think GT loads up the box to stop the run.
On paper it looks like Iowa should hang; their strengths vs GT weakness and Iowa strength vs GT strength. But in bowl games, you have to throw out the paper. GT will get enough done on defense to keep giving the GT offense ball back. Iowa will stop them early maybe...but in the 2nd half they will wear down.
Just remember last night's game...I kept reading how TCU was going to throttle Boise and how much better TCU was. I'm getting that same sense now and I'm not buying it. Johnson will have GT contending for a national title soon and before any other ACC team and that includes the overrated Miami Hurricanes.
Good luck to my fellow GT backers.

when you consider Paul Johnson's bowl record and how his teams prepare, it's hard, really hard for me to back them as a favorite ...
also think that iowa is tuff as an underdawg ... they revil in that role ... while very well coached and scappy they're just not that good (not bashin' ... don't feel they're an elite team)
can't pull the trigger on the either ...
Will probably load up on the under ... best of luck with your wagers fellas

Boise St. although quick, was clearly the much better coached/prepared/smarter team last night..... Tonight, the favorites will not be outsmarted, although Iowa's coach is very, very good as well. Each team has big wins against top (bowl)teams...GT over VT, Clem., NC, FSU) Iowa over PENN STATE, Az, Mich St., Wisc., lost to Oshio St by 3.
GT will not have their way with Iowas Defense and all I can think of when I hear of Iowas QB is "Turnover"
I think, like last night, the defenses will be prepared well enough to keep this under the total.

Yes, he is starting. The junior missed the final two regular-season games - a 27-24 overtime loss at Big Ten champion Ohio State and a 12-0 win over Minnesota - but Ferentz expects Stanzi to be healthy for this game

Ok... Just a couple of things...
- Stanzi is playing. He has practiced at full strength for a couple of weeks now
- It is being reported that Adam Robinson is a little banged up with a shoulder injury. He should play, but just something to watch for.
- Watch out for the pass game for Iowa. Everyone expects them to come out running and ease Stanzi into the game. I actually expect them to air it out. We have very good recievers. McNutt is a converted QB who steps up on the big stage. I'm not sure GT has a corner to stop him. DJK is a great reciever who is a deep threat. I expect a big game from him.
- Then we get to our TE Tony Moeaki. If you just look at the stats they are not impressive, but he is so important for our football team. He is a great blocker and has amazing hands. Kirk Ferentz has been quoted saying that he is the best TE to come to Iowa, and that is with Dallas Clark being a Hawk alumn. His catches are down because he is continually getting doubled team. Generally speaking, the ACC is weak against the TE. Just look at what Miaimi did against Wisconsin. Wisconsin completed 19 passes, 13 of those were to TE's. I expect Tony Moeaki to be a sleeper and have a very big game
- I've been listening to Pregame all day. This is the first bowl game I've missed in I dont know how long. They are saying that the amount of Hawk fans down their are insane. They say it is a see of Iowa at South Beach. They said that they were scavanging South Beach for GT fans to interview and their were no one. They finally found some and interviewed them. In the middle of the interview, hundreds of Iowa fans gathered and started singing our fight song. GT fans were quoted to be saying that they are embarrased by the lack of GT fans.
- I forgot the exact number, but GT defense has forced only like 20 3 and outs this entire year, which is by far one of the worst in football.
Will be back with more...
