Iowa at Georgia Tech (01/05/2010)

THE REASON THE TRIPLE OPTION IS SO DIFFICULT TO PREPARE FOR IS BECAUSE OF THE DIFFERENT BLOCKING SCHEMES.  IT IS NOT DIRECT ASSIGNMENT FOOTBALL.  THE DEFENSIVE END DOESNT ALWAYS HAVE THE QB ON THE OPTION. THE OUTSIDE LINEBACKER DOESNT ALWAYS HAVE THE TAILBACK AND NEITHER DOES THE PLAYSIDE CORNER.

GT IS GOOD AT RUNNING THE SAME OPTION AND FORCING DIFFERENT GUYS TO HAVE DIFFERENT RESPONSIBILITIES. ITS NOT JUST ASSIGNMENT FOOTBALL. ITS ROTATING ASSIGNMENT FOOTBALL.

THEIR IS A REASON THAT TEAMS LIKE AIR FORCE AND NAVY CAN PLAY WITH MORE TALENTED TEAMS.  THIS OFFENSE WILL COMPLETELY FRUSTRATE THE DEFENSE AND THE OTHER OFFENSE STANDING ON THE SIDELINES. YOU COULD SEE THE FRUSTRATION ON THE FACES OF THE MISSOURI TEAM DURING THEIR BOWL GAME.

JUST LIKE BOISE STATES DEFENSE PLAYED ABOVE THEIR HEADS LAST NIGHT, EXPECT THE SAME FROM GT DEFENSE. THEY ARE THE WEAKEST UNIT ON THE FIELD AND TRUST ME THEY KNOW IT.  THEY WILL COME OUT WILL MORE MOTIVATION THAN ANY UNIT ON THE FIELD.

PLAY IS GT AS LONG AS YOU GET IT UNDER -7

I do not wager on Iowa games. I am afraid of a little bias and would rather just sit back and enjoy the games. For the game though I do like Iowa. I think the best play is teasing Iowa up. I think this quote from our star LB Pat Angerer says a lot about our readyness. "Angerer said the extra time to prepare for Georgia Tech's unusual offense has paid off in a big way. ``I can't imagine preparing for these guys in a week,'' he said. ``I think we've seen every play they're going to run -- times 20.''

Our D coordinator has been around forever and has seen every offense known to man. I think he will have this defense geared up for this game.

Iowa will probably give up yards. They play a bend but don't break defense. They may get into the redzone, but they will have to come out with field goals rather than TD more often than not.
