I am not sure if chad is a troll or what. Sure Boom's hatred towards the SEC is not football-talk related and can be hilarious at times. And although the SEC sucks this year and could well turn the tables, the question is, is chad a Bama fan or an LSU fan?? You gotta pick'em

Boom....nice run so far this year.  I haven't been on here much this season, but always liked reading your threads.  And the trolls and SEC-butt-lickers always provide some solid entertainment.

I have always HATED the constant need to compare conferences and play the stupid "what if" game, like if team A played in this conference they'd be 12-0..blah..blah...blah.  Sure, some leagues are better than others, that's always going to be the case.  So what?  At the end of the day, each team is still their own team, and it's all about how they match up vs the teams they play.  ESPN loves shoving the SEC down your throat, because it's super popular, has a lot of good teams, and makes them bundles of $$$$$$$$$$.  I try to tune out the media before, during and after the games, and just make my own conclusions.  Bama should be criticized some for barely squeaking by Tennessee, if they are indeed a title contender.  

I always found it funny that when a Big10 game (for example) ends something like 10-6 (see Wisconsin - Iowa this year), everyone rants about how boring the B10 is and how inept they are at offense.  But when an SEC game ends 10-6 it was an EPIC DEFENSIVE BATTLE BETWEEN TWO ELITE SCHOOLS.  Lol.  Now, again, I'm not saying B10 is better than SEC (or equal even) just using it as an example of how the media can spin things sometimes.  Or just even how your perception of what happens is skewed by the hype around it.  

Anyway, keep up the good work, nice read as always.

Each team is their own team and they have to play the game. Bama should be criticized for barely squeaking by the Vols. Let me let you people know, maybe the Vols have a more talented team than people give them credit for. Is Bama that bad, or are the Vols better than their record indicates.

All I'm saying is this.  If you are truly a National Title Contender, you'd better have a better showing at home vs. a 3-3 team.  This is not a sport where results alone determine who the Champion is.  I don't think the Vols are a bad team at all, but if you want the committee to put you on their short-list, you'd better take care of business when they come to town.


If you are comparing what I said about ESPN's bias towards the SEC and my comment abou the Bama game they are two separate issues.  I have no idea what the media has said about Bama's result, as I haven't tuned in at all since that game. Only going off of my own conclusions on what happened.

The same people who are praising BOOM, are the same people who will turn on him as soon as he has a bad week ,
That is the nature of people. (Cause people suck). Most people are "fair weather friends). But you sound like you are bitter that BOOM IS killing it,, yes I remember that whole thing ( I'll never post again).
But you sound like he really hurt you by coming back, I was a fan of his threads before that statement ,, and I'm glad that he came back. Yes, BOOM will have some bad weeks. Just like anyone, but seems like he really has his fingers on the pulse of this here game of college football right now!!

Boom --

I just hammered Notre Dame myself. This is a huge talent mismatch. Temple has a solid team and I expect it might be close for a half but Notre Dame should wear them down and pull away in the second half. I see a 28-10 type win. The Irish defense will dominate the Owl offense and i will be on the Temple team total under when it comes out.

Notre Dame is a very good team.

yeah, I think they beat temple pretty easily. I don't see a close game.

N.D 45 Temple 10

The interesting thing about N.D is, they are not out of the playoff race... I think the winner of the Stanford vs N.D game could represent in a playoff spot.

It really took off there for a couple pages,  , wow.  Always an entertaining read but I do feel like I could have used that time better ...

Anyway... the more I look at that ND game the more I think they just blow the doors off Temple.  Might be a bigger play for me.  I was looking at Clemson too but the let down factor off a win like that always worries me.  But Dabo has those guys so dialed in right now, I'm not sure it's gonna be a factor.

Anything is possible. NCST is capable of beating us. But like you said, I think they win...but it's never as easy as " we " people/fans/whatever think it is.

the biggest mistake people make in evaluating games IMO... and I have said this for years now, ( besides the thing I say all the time about using your eyes )....

the biggest mistake people make is..... people get caught up in the " snap shot of the moment ".... people do it every week. trust me when I say it's how the hotels in Vegas were built. They love how the average fan falls into the snap shot of the moment. What you see this week is never what you will see every week. What separates good and great teams is just that...can they be consistent enough.

never forget this game is 18 -22 year old kids.

When i re-watch games later in the week i usually turn the sound off and watch the plays. It helps to be more subjective in what is actually going on versus the hype that the announcers create with their creative lingo.
