SC is relevant but sure as hell not a contender. now LSU is different--richt made THAT program into a champion after it had languished since the mid-70s'. when spurrier does the same with SC, he'll be something.
Was that supposed to be sarcasm?

Jimmydafeak-you're right about the trenches, where games are very often w or l! A lil' nugget: SC's ol has 72 career starts, NC is at 55 career starts. GL this season!

Guys, why dont we just agree that s. car belongs in a 10 point tease with fla state and one other game???? I'd be very surprised if either s. car or fsu lost. In fact i'd pay to see it...

Now now Jimmy- don't go getting Boom all upset with the SEC is superior in the trenches crap!! lol! That is how I see it as well- S.Carolina will wear down the UNC team- the only way I see it going over is if UNC gets some big plays/quick scores- I have seen time and time again where these spread/uptempo unique type offenses go against SEC teams and guess what- lots of early success then come the halftime adjustments and then the other teams get worn down in the trenches- I think UNC could cover but I definately see a 28-17 or 28-20 type ball game- UNC's defense will not be very good this year- I can see S. Carolina running the ball down the throat of that defense and wearing them down and keeping the quick strike UNC offense off of the field- I'm liking the game under more than a first half under as I could see UNC with some early success or some early quick scores
