you are the last person i would think to give up a couple games in man
 
bowl season is just beginning and these dogs will be barking
 
central michigan is up next and they will cover and win outright.
 
maryland, msu, air force, fresno state, A&M, UVA....
 
you cannot pass up the opportunity to play these dogs.
 
i anticipate a hot streak coming on soon, i think the bowl season is just what you need to get back on your feet

Sometimes you just gotta cut your losses and call it a day...that UNM game definitely looks like a sign to me.  Pretty shitty that you never got in much of a groove this year, but it's been a weird one, and I don't think many people have done well.

No big deal - just a business decision.
 
If you have one part of your business that is losing money, cut it out and examine it and see if it can be profitable.
 
But remember something to my haters who post above - this is just one slice of the pie.  It has been a profitable year for me - as have the last many - because I treat it like a business and because I make decisions like these.  Unlike you - I dont need action on the Bluebonnet bowl to make my Tuesday night fly by, and I dont bet my rent money either.
 
Its all about business.  The other divisions of my business such as NFL have been profitable for me so I will take my profits and finish out NFL and sit until MLB.
 
Oh - and if you believe in "karma" you might want to stop gambling.  And if you think I have bad karma, I wish you nothing but the same.

Vanzack I really like your thinking. This is all business. I have seperate bankrolls for different sports and like stocks some lose and some win. Your post is the best advice I have read on this forum.

Good point, Van.  The need to have action on every or most bowl games can be bad news for anybody's wallet.

About the only thing that has saved my ass so far is only betting on one game... and that was BYU.

Sound money management will always get the job done in  the long run.

I would never make a stupid statement like that - a statement like that doesnt even enter my vocabulary.

Its funny how many people care so much about what I decide to do with my gambling, and no matter what they find something to be unhappy about.  This is not earth shattering news.  Everyone loses sometime, thats gambling.  If this was the worst season I will ever have I will be very happy.

 I assume you have a lot to worry about with yourself, why not give that a try for a while.

Van- Do whatever you feel is right but it can be turned around, I have seen it done. A couple of years ago, I started out 0-6 in the bowl games and ended up 19-10 and up almost 16 units. I know you can cap better than this and I will be the first to say that the regular season in CFB sucked for me as well, but I look forward to the bowl season every year

It is amazing how some people need to revel in someone else's misfortune in order to make their day better. 
 
vanzack might be blunt.  He might not be the best handicapper on the site.  But he's honest and he's also right almost all the time (and I'm not talking record or anything like that....I'm talking a general approach to sports wagering). 
 
Once again, it's the people who let their emotions get in the way that are coming out with the ,s. 
 
He said "uncle" on the NCAA football season.  What is the shame in that?  I'd bet my life savings that there are a lot of people who wish they had the objectivity to make such a decision.  In a arena where everyone does just about anything to make sense out of stuff that often doesn't make sense, here is someone making the an ultimate decision about who is in charge so to speak. 
 
You have someone who is honest, interesting in discussing sports wagering and all that it encompasses, willing to answer any reasonable question, and calls someone a moron if they, indeed, are a moron.  I fail to see the bad in that. 
 
van, I'm not ready to have your child or anything, but sometimes you have to call a spade a spade even if it sounds a bit

Best of luck Van, and thanks for sharing your posts and your insights.  I can tell you you are not alone -- I am about ready to throw in the towel on the bowls as well.  I'm off to a bad start after a good regular season and it's hard to take.
