Despite a 1-3-1 record, the Philadelphia Eagles could take the lead in the NFC East in Week 6 with a win and a Dallas loss, but Lamar Jackson and the 4-1 Baltimore Ravens stand in the way.

The home team Eagles are getting 7.5 points, and Week 6 marks the third straight week that Philadelphia has been a 7-point-plus underdog. The total opened at 48 but has risen half a point to 48.5. Baltimore is 1-4 O/U on the year.

Here are our NFL free picks and predictions for Ravens vs Eagles on October 18 (1:00 p.m. ET).

Betting Trend to Know

The Ravens are 6-1 ATS in their last seven road games. Find more NFL betting trends for Ravens vs. Eagles.

Against the spread (ATS) pick

The Eagles have played a team with a winning record in three of their last four games and have lost just two of those matches. They went toe-to-toe against a rested Steelers team last week and should have covered. They gained more yards per play against Pittsburgh and its No. 1 DVOA defense and look comfortable moving the ball despite a plethora of injuries. Carson Wentz and Co. have been big underdogs since Week 4 and have hung with some of the best.

Baltimore is coming off two games against a couple of the league’s worst teams (CIN and WAS) but in its two games versus divisional opponents, the Ravens have outscored their opponent 65-9. Some troubling numbers do exist in the Ravens’ recent play, as QB Lamar Jackson has put up two duds over his last three games and only rushed for three yards last week after missing some practice.

The Ravens are averaging just 26 rushes per game over their last three which is a far cry from last year’s league-leading mark of 37. What’s more concerning is that Jackson and the passing game are gaining a league-low 169 passing yards per game since Week 3.

With a divisional game and the home team getting more than a TD, we know where our money is going.

PREDICTION: Philadelphia +7.5 (-110)

Over/Under pick

Baltimore is 0-4 O/U on totals of 46 points or more while the 47.5 total is the highest number the Eagles have seen this year. The Eagles have managed just four TDs at home this year against two bottom-15 defenses while Baltimore has given up the second-fewest touchdowns on the road.

It’s difficult to trust the Ravens to run up the score when their passing game has looked unimpressive since the Kansas City game in Week 3. Jackson hasn’t topped 205 yards passing since Week 1 and his longest pass has been just 33 yards over the last month. Baltimore can turn it on at any moment, but we can’t get behind the Over when the 7-point favorite has struggled to pass and pull off big plays.

PREDICTION: Under 47.5 (-110)

Player Prop Pick

As mentioned above, Lamar Jackson has not been his usual self, throwing for 168.5 yards since Week 1 and coming off back-to-back games with an interception. It hasn’t meant much as the Ravens have rolled three of their last four opponents, but it is concerning especially with last week’s missed practice time with a knee injury. Jackson also rushed just three times last week for two yards. This is not the same QB we saw last year.

Despite all the injuries, the Eagles are still a decent team against the pass this year, holding opposing QBs to 240 yards per game, and they held Big Ben to 231 last week. Baltimore could lean on its defense again to win this game — 20 points allowed the last two weeks — and not need to ask too much of Jackson with the bye coming up and some big games on the schedule (PIT, IND, NE, PIT and DAL). Jackson has not made more than 20 completions all year and has topped 205 yards just once — back in Week 1.

PREDICTION: Lamar Jackson Under 233.5 passing yards (-120)
