The Ottawa Redblacks are set to host the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in an East Division affair on Friday, Oct. 2. Ottawa is still searching for its first win of 2026, while Hamilton enters this one as losers of five straight.

Read my Tiger-Cats vs. Redblacks predictions and CFL picks for this cross-province matchup, and see why I think the Hamilton moneyline is offering good value in the CFL odds.

Who will win Tiger-Cats vs Redblacks: Tiger-Cats moneyline

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Ottawa Redblacks combine for a putrid 0-19 mark amid their respective losing streaks, but one of them is going to have to win on Friday.

Apologies to the nation's capital, but a -105 moneyline for a winless team in October is insane.

Hamilton has won three straight against Ottawa, and four of the last five meetings. They rank fifth in rushing yards allowed, far from league-best, but the Redblacks have produced only 697 rushing yards through 14 games, over 400 less than the second-fewest and the same as TiCats RB Larry Rountree III.

Yes, Harrison Frost has been erratic through the air, but Redblacks QB Jake Maier has been the worst starting quarterback in the league this season, with just an 87.8 QB rating.

Tiger-Cats vs Redblacks total prediction: Over 60.5

Despite both teams being mired in extended losing streaks, they've both surprisingly cashed the Over in four of their last five games. These teams have allowed the most and third-most points, respectively, in the CFL this season.

Ottawa just put up back-to-back 30+ point performances against the Calgary Stampeders, and Hamilton lost a 37-35 overtime heartbreaker against the high-flying Edmonton Elks. Silver linings are always there if you look hard enough.

The TiCats have also allowed 37 points in three consecutive games. The signs are certainly pointing to the Over for these two teams in desperate need of a W.

Covers COVERS INTEL: The Over is 5-1 in Ottawa's last six games vs. a team with a losing record.

Tiger-Cats vs Redblacks same-game parlay

The Redblacks are 0-14, and Trevor Harris was ringless as a starter the last time they won a football game. And while the Tiger-Cats are mired in an ugly streak of their own, they haven't been significantly worse than every other team across most important metrics like Ottawa.

Both teams have put up respectable offensive showings in weeks prior (albeit in place of good defense), yet still not enough to find the win column.

Fortunately for one of these bottom-feeding teams, that is going to change on Friday in the Canadian capital.
