After Calgary and Toronto combined for 94 points earlier this season, we're expecting much of the same in Round 2.

The Toronto Argonauts finally return to BMO Field on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. ET to host the Calgary Stampeders.

Although it's Toronto's first real home game following the World Cup, Calgary is a 1.5-point betting favorite by the CFL odds, and my Stampeders vs. Argonauts predictions expect Vernon Adams Jr. to pull off the road win.

Find out more in my CFL picks for Thursday, Aug. 6.

Who will win Stampeders vs Argonauts: Stampeders moneyline (-122)

Road favorites have been a force in the CFL this season, going 9-2 straight-up against home underdogs. With the way the Toronto Argonauts matchup with the Calgary Stampeders, this trend should continue in Week 10.

The Stamps turn every game into a shootout, and while it's led to mixed results overall, Calgary's style of play has killed teams that take a similar approach. Against teams ranked outside the top three in points allowed per game, Vernon Adams Jr. and Co. are 3-1 straight-up and averaging 44.7 points per game.

Toronto gave up 58 points to Calgary in the first meeting, and the Argos' defence ranks in the bottom three in both points allowed (31.3) and yards allowed per game (409.6).

Even on the road, Calgary to win outright is worth considering at -130 or better.

Stampeders vs Argonauts total prediction: Over 68.5 (-110)

When the Stampeders and Argonauts clashed the first time around, they combined for a jaw-dropping 94 points to hit the Over (60.5).

That's just the way Calgary plays, with the Stamps cashing the Over in every game this year (7-0), averaging 73.2 combined points (40.2 for them, 33.0 for opponents).

The Argos showed in their first matchup that their defence has no answer for Calgary, but their offence can take advantage of a Stamps D that ranks bottom two in points and yards allowed per game (426.9).

However, with this game total already astronomically high, I wouldn't play the Over at any number above 69.5.

Covers COVERS INTEL: Toronto is 1-3 straight-up when allowing 30+ points this season; Calgary has scored 30+ points in six straight games.

Stampeders vs Argonauts same-game parlay

Calgary has dominated against poor defences this season, beating three of the four teams it has faced that rank outside the top three in points allowed per game. Across those four matchups, the Stampeders have outscored their opponents 179-129.

In all four of those games, Calgary and its opponent combined to go Over, with only one of those matchups failing to reach 70 total points.
