The winless Ottawa Redblacks take on the reigning Grey Cup champions under the Friday night lights in Mosaic Stadium in Regina when they face the Saskatchewan Roughriders at 9 p.m. ET (TSN).
CFL odds have Saskatchewan listed as an 8.5-point betting favorite, and my Redblacks vs. Roughriders predictions and CFL picks don't expect Ottawa to keep things close on Aug. 7.
Who will win Redblacks vs Roughriders: Roughriders -8.5 (-110)
The Ottawa Redblacks are free-falling. They just lost by 21 points at home and fired defensive coordinator Will Fields after his defense allowed 34+ points for the fourth time in its last six games.
Things are unlikely to get better for Ottawa in Week 10, with the Saskatchewan Roughriders being the only team in the Western Division that's top three in the CFL in both PPG (33.1) and points allowed per game (27.9).
Ottawa has been at its worst against top-three scoring defenses, too. The Redblacks are 0-5 straight-up against teams ranked top three in points allowed and have been outscored by an average of 33.4 to 21.6.
With how poorly Ottawa has played this season, especially against top defenses, Saskatchewan is worth considering as long as the spread stays below double digits.

Redblacks vs Roughriders total prediction: Under 61.5 (-112)
Ottawa's defensive issues have overshadowed how inept its offense is this season, and the Redblacks have failed to score more than 24 points in five of seven games.
The Redblacks have the worst run game in the league (59.4 rushing yards per game), and their pass-heavy approach doesn't matchup well against a Saskatchewan defense that's No. 2 in the league in sacks (17) and No. 1 in TD passes allowed (9).
That's why the Under is the play at any number above 60, especially considering the average total points scored when Ottawa takes on top three-scoring defenses is 55.
I'm also factoring in that the Roughriders are dealing with key injuries at wide receiver, and they could lean on the ground attack as a result, thus shortening the game.
Redblacks vs Roughriders same-game parlay
When the Redblacks take on top three defenses, they tend to lose by double digits while scoring minimal points. In the five games against those defenses this season, they're 2-3 ATS and 1-4 to the Over.
To make matters tougher on Ottawa's offense, the team just released multi-time All-Star wide receiver Eugene Lewis, who had over 1,000 yards for the Redblacks last year.
