With several Alouettes starters missing, the Roughriders cover the -5.5 spread!

The Montreal Alouettes visit the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Saturday, October 17. The Als clobbered the Roughriders 44-24 less than a week ago, marking their first meeting since the 2025 Grey Cup.

Montreal is resting quarterback and likely MOP in the CFL odds, Davis Alexander, so Saskatchewan opens as the heavy favorite. My Alouettes vs. Roughriders predictions suggest a bounceback performance from Trevor Harris and company.

Read along for today's CFL picks ahead of this exciting matchup.

Who will win Alouettes vs Roughriders: Roughriders -5.5 (-110)

This spread looks pretty big on paper, considering the Saskatchewan Roughriders just lost to the Als by 20 points on Thanksgiving Monday.

However, with the Montreal Alouettes turning to QB Dustin Crum (who has attempted just 13 passes all season) and Saskatchewan in the thick of a tight West Division playoff race, this rematch has a Roughriders clinic written all over it -- especially since the Als were 4-3-0 on the road with Alexander compared to 9-0-0 at home.

The Alouettes handing the ball to Crum dramatically changes this matchup's narrative, and despite Saskatchewan's recent struggles, I think they cover here.

It's a much more important game for the Riders, and the Als will presumably rest key players.

Alouettes vs Roughriders total prediction: Under 56.5 (+100)

Although the Als (12-4-0 O/U) smash the Over like no other team in the CFL, it's largely due to their superstar QB.

The Roughriders' offense has struggled over the last month and has only topped 30 points twice since August 15. Five of their last eight have played to the Under, and with inexperience under center for Montreal, I certainly don't expect the typical offensive explosion from the Grey Cup favorites.

Covers COVERS INTEL: Dustin Crum hasn't thrown more than five times in a game since the 2025 season, and has just one rushing attempt since Week 7.

Alouettes vs Roughriders same-game parlay

This is a critical Week 20 matchup for the Roughriders and effectively meaningless for the Alouettes, and Montreal has already given Alexander the week off as they prepare for a deep playoff run.

The offensively struggling Roughriders are in a prime position to climb back over .500, but that doesn't necessarily mean their offensive woes will disappear.

The most likely outcome is a convincing but low-scoring win for the Riders.
