Week 10 in the CFL features a rivalry matchup between the Toronto Argonauts and Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Friday night. These familiar foes are going to be seeing a lot of each other after clashing last week and meeting up a total of four times within a one-month span.
The Argos covered as short home faves last week but the Ti-Cats are expected to return the favor by entering Tim Horton's Field as 2-point chalk on Friday. Here are our best free Argonauts vs. Tiger-Cats CFL picks and predictions for August 12.

Argonauts vs Tiger-Cats picks and predictions
Our side and total predictions are based upon our analysis of the line and total in this game. Our best bet is our favorite pick across all markets.
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats seem like the opposite of the Grey Cup favourite Winnipeg Blue Bombers. While the Bombers turn things on down the stretch and make big plays when they need to, the Ti-Cats seem to crumble under pressure and constantly fall part.
The Tabbies are actually third in the CFL in net offense and second in net defense, but turnovers and poor play in the clutch have resulted in a disappointing 2-6 start to the year.
Those problems were on full display last week when they outgained the Argos 387-296 and controlled the ball for eight more minutes but had a blocked punt returned for a touchdown along with a pick-six in the final quarter to lose 34-20.
That was the Argonauts' third win in their last four games as they improved to an East Division best 4-3 on the year. Although the Argos don't really stand out in any one area, they have a balanced team on both sides of the ball.
While a few key players in running back Andrew Harris and wideout Brandon Banks are listed as questionable, I expect them both to play since they were full participants in Wednesday's practice.
The Ti-Cats on the other hand will likely be without starting quarterback Dane Evans who is listed as doubtful with a shoulder injury. Evans turned the ball over way too much earlier this season but he's still second in the CFL with 278.6 passing yards per game and has done a better job at holding onto the ball in recent weeks.
The dropoff from Evans to backup Matthew Shiltz is pretty sizable and that, combined with how the Ti-Cats have been finding ways to lose, has me fading them on the moneyline.
Prediction: Argonauts moneyline (-105 at bet365)
The Ti-Cats have a very strong defense at every level, especially in the back end where they have a stacked secondary. They hold opponents to the second-fewest yards per play in the league (5.8) and boast the lowest second-down conversion rate (42.5%).
Although they have been allowing plenty of points, that's often been due to sloppy turnovers from their offense and I'm expecting a more conservative gameplan from them this week with Shiltz at the helm.
Shiltz has been a solid backup in the league completing 62.9% of his passes for 1,412 yards and six touchdowns with five interceptions over the last three seasons. He's not a playmaker but with likely shorter throws and a steady diet of running the ball, he should be able to limit turnovers.
Expect a slower-paced game from both sides with strong defense from the Ti-Cats but few big plays either. Take the Under here.
Prediction: Under 46.5 (-110 at bet365)
Looking at their team on paper, the Ti-Cats should be much better but they keep finding ways to lose and it seems like there is something broken with this team.
I was pretty torn on which side I was leaning towards earlier in the week but the news that Evans will likely sit out, has me backing the Argos. The difference between Evans and Shiltz should be worth more than a single point to the line — even with Evans' turnover issues at the start of the year.
Pick: Argonauts moneyline (-105 at bet365)
