Canelo Alvarez hasn’t scored a knockout in years, but he’ll box his way to a decision over Christian Mbilli in Riyadh.

My Canelo Alvarez vs. Christian Mbilli prediction favors Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, a -330 favorite at DraftKings, to win the main event on Saturday, Oct. 31, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where the WBC super middleweight title is on the line.

Alvarez returns after more than a year away following his upset loss to Terence Crawford, while undefeated champion Mbilli looks to establish himself against the biggest name of his career.

Who will win Canelo Alvarez vs Christian Mbilli: Alvarez (-330)

Fight Prediction
Canelo Alvarez to win (-330)
Bet now at DraftKings

Canelo Alvarez is my pick. He's clearly on the back nine of his career, but Christian Mbilli brings an aggressive style that has traditionally played into his strengths.

Crawford disrupted Canelo's rhythm and denied him opportunities to counter, while Mbilli will come forward and throw plenty of punches.

That should give Canelo opportunities to land his trademark counters to the head and body. Mbilli is younger and more active, but I expect Canelo's superior experience, timing, and skill set to make the difference.

Canelo Alvarez vs Christian Mbilli best bet: Alvarez to win by decision (-135)

BEST BET
Canelo Alvarez to win by decision (-135)
Bet now at DraftKings

Canelo to win by decision is my best bet. Canelo can still hurt opponents, but he's become increasingly comfortable slowing the pace and winning rounds rather than chasing a finish.

Mbilli is tough and well-conditioned enough to withstand those power counters, but will be increasingly wary of them as time goes by. I expect Canelo to land the more meaningful punches, gradually discourage Mbilli's pressure, and regain a portion of the super middleweight championship on the scorecards.

Covers COVERS INTEL: Canelo Alvarez hasn't scored a knockout since November 2021, with each of his last eight fights going the distance.

Canelo Alvarez vs Christian Mbilli favorite prop: Alvarez to win/Under 1.5 knockdowns (-150)

Canelo Alvarez vs Christian Mbilli

Prop Pick
Canelo Alvarez to win + Under 1.5 knockdowns (-150)
Bet now at DraftKings

Canelo to win with Under 1.5 knockdowns is my preferred prop. Canelo remains an excellent counterpuncher, but his recent performances suggest he's more interested in controlling opponents than putting them away.

Mbilli's aggressive style should give him opportunities to land clean shots, but I don't expect either fighter to spend much time on the canvas.

Canelo Alvarez vs Christian Mbilli odds

Odds as of Oct. 29.

Canelo is a commanding -330 favorite, and his -135 decision price is my preferred bet, offering considerably better value than his expensive moneyline. With the former champion winless by knockout since 2021, I'm backing him to reclaim the title on points.

Mbilli is five years younger, stands an inch taller, and owns a two-inch reach advantage, but Canelo brings considerably more championship experience.
