Handling bigs isn't a strong suit for the Storm and Jessica Shepard will reap the benefits of Seattle's weak spot as they come to visit the Lone Star State.

The Seattle Storm and Dallas Wings meet for the third time this season, and Dallas will look to make it three straight wins as it hosts Seattle at College Park Center on Sunday, Aug. 23.

Seattle’s interior defense has been smoked by opposing bigs all season, and after a strong showing in her last game out, I expect Jessica Shepard to keep the momentum going with another big game tonight.

Read on in my free WNBA picks & Storm vs. Wings predictions to see why I’m taking the Over on Shepard’s combo line, and why I expect Dallas to win a low-scoring contest in front of the home crowd.

Storm vs Wings prediction

Storm vs Wings best bet: Jessica Shepard Over 29.5 points+rebounds+assists -120

Jessica Shepard is averaging a career-best 30.3 PRA, and she’s been slightly more effective at home, averaging 30.6. She’s posted 30+ PRA in 20 of 35 games, including 10 of 16 home games

Shepard leads the W in rebounds per game at home at 11.8, and she’s comfortably ahead of all other centers in assists at five per tilt.

Shepard posted 35 PRA across 35 minutes in her last game out, but in five games prior, she missed two games and was limited to just 19 minutes across her other three. Play to 31.5.

Covers COVERS INTEL: The Seattle Storm have surrendered the most points (28.8), rebounds (11.5) and assists (6.8) to opposing centers this season, setting Shepard up nicely to have a productive showing at home.

Storm vs Wings same-game parlay

Seattle one of the best teams ATS this season, and spotting the Dallas Wings 8.5 points at home seems a little steep, considering the team is just 4-5 ATS as the home favorite. Dallas is, however, 11-6 SU as the home team and a WNBA-best 8-1 as the home favorite.

Dallas has hit the Under at a higher percentage than any other team at home, doing so in 70.6% of its games. A 112-110 overtime contest on June 22 snapped a six-game Under streak between the Wings and Storm, and I’ll bet another Under down to 170.5.

Storm vs Wings SGP +360

  • Jessica Shepard Over 29.5 points+rebounds+assists
  • Wings moneyline
  • Under 174.5

Storm vs Wings player prop pick

Paige Bueckers Under 21.5 points -105

Paige Bueckers is enjoying a career-best offensive season, averaging 20.3 points, but she’s scoring just 18.5 ppg at home.

She’s gone Under 21.5 in 18 of 35 games overall and 10 of 16 at home. The Wings are +6.4 per game at home and -1.4 per game on the road. Bueckers is taking two fewer FGA at home, and she hasn’t been needed for big scoring performances thanks to stronger team efforts.

I’ll play this one down to 20.5 as Shepard shines and Bueckers isn’t relied on for 22+ points.
