The WNBA Commissioner’s Cup rolls on today when the Minnesota Lynx welcome the Los Angeles Sparks to Target Center.
WNBA MVP favorite Napheesa Collier leads the W in scoring, and my Sparks vs. Lynx predictions expect “MVPhee” to light up the Sparks today.
Read on as I share my WNBA picks for Saturday, June 14.
Sparks vs Lynx predictions
My Sparks vs Lynx best bet: Napheesa Collier Over 22.5 points (-122 at FanDuel)
The Minnesota Lynx are coming off their first loss of the season, but WNBA MVP odds favorite Napheesa Collier shone brightly.
The 10-point loss to the Seattle Storm was the seventh time in nine games that Collier scored at least 23 points, and she’ll need a similar performance to beat the high-scoring Los Angeles Sparks.
Collier is playing the most minutes of her career (35). She boasts a career high 25.4 ppg on 50% shooting from inside the arc, and 40% from downtown.
The Sparks' defense won’t likely prevent Collier from clearing her 22.5-point scoring prop as they surrender 84.6 ppg on 34.5 points in the paint and nearly nine triples per night.
"MVPhee" is coming off a 39% shooting night at Seattle. She scores at all three levels and dropped 25 points in her May 18 road matchup with L.A.
Sparks vs Lynx same-game parlay (SGP)
Collier’s scoring prop is my best bet, but she’ll need some help as the Sparks have scored 90+ points in two of their previous three.
Kayla McBride should provide some of that help. McBride is an elite 3-point shooter who can score at all three levels. L.A. will have trouble defending the red-hot McBride, who’s scored 16 or more points in four of five games.
Courtney Williams has dropped at least six dimes in three of her previous five. The Sparks' shaky help defense has resulted in the ninth-most assists allowed per night, and Williams could raise her season average of 6.4 assists today against L.A.
