The Atlanta Dream needed some second-half magic from Allisha Gray to escape with a win in their season opener, and Tom Oldfield expects her to lead the charge again tonight in Dallas.

The Atlanta Dream and Dallas Wings are both looking to take the next step with freshly upgraded rosters, and tonight’s matchup will tell us more about their ceilings this year.

Dallas made a statement in its season opener by taking down Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever, but this Atlanta squad doesn’t have many weaknesses, and my Dream vs. Wings predictions expect Allisha Gray to be one of the standout performers for the visitors here.

Read on for my WNBA picks ahead of this May 12 battle.

Dream vs Wings prediction

Dream vs Wings best bet: Allisha Gray Over 17.5 points (-105)

Angel Reese’s arrival gives the Atlanta Dream another dimension this season, but Allisha Gray’s scoring remains their No. 1 ingredient.

Gray dropped 24 points on the Minnesota Lynx on Saturday and, while it wasn’t one of her more efficient outings, she got to the free-throw line 11 times.

She’ll also face a weaker defense here. The Dallas Wings gave up 88 PPG last season, second-most in the WNBA, and they struggled to contain the Indiana Fever backcourt at the weekend, with Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell combining for 50 points.

That’s good news for Gray, who averaged a career-best 18.4 PPG in 2025.

Covers COVERS INTEL: The Dream had a crushing 46-25 rebounding edge in Saturday’s last-gasp victory, including 19 offensive boards – and the Wings are vulnerable on the glass with thin frontcourt depth.

Dream vs Wings same-game parlay

I’ll pair a sweet-shooting night from Gray with the Atlanta moneyline, doubling down on the visitors to build on their dominant finish on Saturday, where they outscored the Lynx 28-19 in the fourth quarter.

The trends also favor the Dream, who’ve won five of the past seven meetings between these teams and were a league-best 13-7-1 ATS on the road last season.

But the Wings won’t let this one go without a fight, and I’m looking at Paige Bueckers to keep the offense flowing. She only dished four dimes in the season opener, but she had 6+ assists in five of her final six games last year, including a 10-assist effort against Atlanta in late August.

Dream vs Wings SGP

  • Allisha Gray Over 17.5 points
  • Dream moneyline
  • Paige Bueckers Over 5.5 assists

Dream vs Wings first basket scorer: Arike Ogunbowale (+1000)

There’s an array of talented scorers on both squads, but Arike Ogunbowale feels like a value pick here as a willing, high-volume shooter. She led the Wings in field-goal attempts in the opener (15), and don’t be surprised if Dallas tries to test the Atlanta guards early here.

As a dual inside-outside threat, Ogunbowale can get buckets against any defender, and the hosts will need to hit their jumpshots, given Reese’s ability to clean the glass and deny second-chance opportunities.

Ogunbowale had the Wings’ second basket of the game on Sunday, and I’m picking her to make an even faster impact tonight.
