Who knew scheduling an outdoor event could face weather-related challenges and other issues?
UFC Freedom 250 at the White House in Washington, D.C., is in danger of being delayed due to severe thunderstorms, intense heat, and even swarms of mosquitoes.
The main card is scheduled to start on the White House South Lawn at 8 p.m. ET, but there is a significant risk that this will not be the case on Sunday, June 14.
Will UFC Freedom 250 be delayed by the weather?
On the morning of Sunday, June 14, Kalshi listed the chances of a UFC Freedom 250 delay to be around 19%. This has only increased throughout the day, hitting 48% at its peak (so far), which is where it sits at the time of this writing.
Rain, 30 mph winds, and "massive swarms of mosquitoes and gnats" are among the speed bumps facing this "prestigious" event. A triple-digit heat index is also in the cards, complementing the 60% chance of thunderstorms with extremely muggy temperatures.
So, we'll see if the opening bout between Diego Lopes and Steve Garcia flies off without a hitch (or, well, without too many hitches) or if we're in for a late night at the White House.
