Someone is likely getting knocked out in Saturday’s main event.

The UFC touches down in Belgrade, Serbia, for the first time this Saturday, with the promotion hosting an action-packed 14-fight card featuring local hero Uros Medic taking on proven veteran Daniel Rodriguez in the main event.

After starting his UFC career 4-3, Medic has since turned things around, riding an impressive three-fight win streak with all three victories coming by first-round knockout. Meanwhile, Daniel Rodriguez enters the Octagon for the first time in over a year following a stint in a Mexican prison for drug charges.

UFC odds favor the red-hot Medic at -425, but I'm backing the underdog in my Uros Medic vs Daniel Rodriguez predictions and free betting picks for August 1.

There’s no denying that Uros Medic is an offensive threat, but he’s also a massive defensive liability capable of getting caught by anyone.

Everyone loves his highlights, but they often forget about the struggles, which include Medic being knocked down three times, submitted twice, and absolutely annihilated in just 31 seconds by a gatekeeper.

Daniel Rodriguez isn’t the popular pick this weekend, in large part due to his recent stint in a Mexican prison, but he’s a proven competitor with 10 UFC wins on his resume and is also riding a three-fight win streak.

When you constantly fight a "kill or be killed" type of game plan, it's always going to benefit short fights one way or another. Medic's last five fights have all ended inside the first round, and overall, seven of his 10 outings in the UFC have gone less than five minutes.

If Medic wins this fight, he's going to finish early. If he loses this fight, he's also likely to get put away just as quickly.

Rodriguez hasn’t been the biggest finisher historically, but he does boast a 65% finish rate across his 20 professional wins and is coming off a performance where he knocked down Kevin Holland twice. Expect violence and a quick finish by either man, and that seriously favors the Under 1.5 total rounds, regardless of who prevails.

Covers COVERS INTEL: Uros Medic has never gone to a decision in 16 professional fights, with 13 of those bouts ending in the first round.

Odds as of 7-31.

Rodriguez by KO makes the most sense, and I’d play it down to +400.

I’d still consider Under 1.5 rounds to -225 if it moved in that direction.
