Andrea Lee vs Maycee Barber betting preview
This flyweight clash pits a division mainstay against a rising contender who is hitting her stride. After posting back-to-back losses to Roxanne Moddeferi and Alexa Grasso, Barber has won three straight. Lee is 2-3 in her last five and coming off a loss to Viviane Araujo in her previous fight.
Barber may have been matched up too hard too early, but she has learned from her losses. After recovering from a knee injury suffered in the Moddeferi loss, Barber has shown a more formidable side to her game. Her wins over Montana De La Rosa and Jessica Eye displayed her crisp striking and improved offense.
She continues her climb to validate her potential against another tested veteran. Barber lands 4.42 significant strikes per minute at 53% accuracy and makes her shots count as a second-degree black belt in karate. She might find opportunities to take Lee to the ground, but the path to victory is making this a close-quarters shootout.
Lee’s recent struggles have seen her get worked over in tough fights. Even the two she won hasn’t come against stern opposition. That said, Lee is resilient and can be a hard night at work if she can get off to a good start.
With Barber trying to put it all together, Lee’s experience should lend an advantage. She lands 5.43 significant strikes per minute at 49% accuracy, and is aggressive on the ground with 1.68 takedowns landed per 15 minutes and 0.7 submission attempts during that time frame. Lee will have a four-inch advantage in reach and might force Barber to take chances due to her capable striking defense.
If Barber is indeed “The Future,” then she shouldn’t lose here. She could be forgiven for losing to a 40-fight veteran who still had some juice and a future world champion, but Lee won’t be considered a forgivable detour. Barber has to show that she can win one of these big fights because another loss will doom her to doormat status for the rest of her UFC career.

Andrea Lee vs Maycee Barber UFC prediction and best bet
Fight prediction: Barber ML
I think it’s safe to say that Barber is still a work in progress, but she is making progress. Watching Lee nearly get flattened by Araujo in the opening salvo wasn’t very promising for her chances of pulling off an upset. Seeing Lee get taken down as many times as she has over her recent fights could give Barber another avenue for victory, and her reach advantage won’t do much if she can’t get Barber’s respect.
I’d take Barber’s performance in her loss to Grasso over anything else Lee has done recently. She should be coming in with all the confidence in the world behind her, and her busy striking should get the job done against the kind of opponent she should be able to beat at this stage of her career.
The call here is that Barber makes it three in a row.
Prediction: Barber moneyline (-250 at FanDuel)
Fight best bet: Barber by decision
After winning her first three fights by TKO, all of Barber’s fights have gone the distance. Lee has only been stopped once by submission seven years ago. What we’ll end up seeing is a fight that will go the distance, but Barber will be the more energetic and effective striker between them.
Lee is sturdy enough to take the shots and make it to the final bell. By the time we get to the third round, Barber is going to have a decision wrapped up and will just need to make it to the scorecards to win by decision.
Barber winning by decision is our best bet of the night.
Pick: Barber by decision (-110 at FanDuel)
